Qobuz Rolls Out AI-Generated Music Tag
QOBUZ AI-GENERATED MUSIC TAG HELPS LISTENERS IDENTIFY AI MUSIC EASILY
Qobuz has introduced a new AI-generated music tag within its app, allowing listeners to identify music that has been identified as AI-generated.
The French streaming and download platform says the feature is intended to give users clearer information about the content they are listening to.

QOBUZ AI-GENERATED MUSIC TAG AND HUMAN CURATION
Qobuz says its editorial approach remains centred on human selection, with playlists, featured content and other recommendations created by its editorial teams. According to the company, AI-generated music is excluded from these curated discovery journeys.
AI-GENERATED MUSIC ON QOBUZ
Qobuz reports that just 0.38% of streams on the platform currently come from tracks identified as AI-generated. It also says that more than a third of albums identified as AI-generated with no listening activity, representing four million tracks, have been removed from its search engine.
The platform also says that 60% of streams from tracks identified as AI-generated are currently considered fraudulent by its anti-fraud systems. These streams are excluded from rights-holder royalty payouts, while content associated with detected fraudulent activity can be removed from the catalogue.

QOBUZ AI CHARTER UPDATED
The new identification system was developed in-house and forms part of Qobuz’s AI Charter, originally published in February 2026. The company says the Charter has now been updated and will continue to evolve alongside technological and regulatory developments in the music industry.
HiFi PiG says: The new tag gives Qobuz users a straightforward way of distinguishing identified AI-generated content from other music in the service. With AI-generated music becoming an increasingly visible part of streaming platforms, making that information available at the point of listening could be useful for listeners who want to know more about what they are hearing.
