Spine Wall-Mounted Streaming Music Display
SPINE TURNS STREAMING LIBRARIES INTO ALBUM ART DISPLAYS
Spine Music has announced Spine, a 28-inch wall-mounted display designed to present a digital music collection as a browsable shelf of album artwork.
Spine aims to bring back the visual experience of browsing physical record and CD collections, allowing users to view, arrange and select albums without scrolling through a conventional streaming app.

SPINE MUSIC CONNECTS TO APPLE MUSIC, TIDAL AND SPOTIFY
Spine connects to existing streaming accounts through the Spine Music app, available for iPhone and Android. Once signed in to Apple Music, Tidal or Spotify, the user’s library automatically populates the display with album artwork presented as individual spines.
Users can choose which albums appear on the shelf and organise them by artist, decade or manually. The display scrolls through the collection, with selected albums brought forward to show their full cover artwork.

SPINE MUSIC WORKS WITH EXISTING AUDIO SYSTEMS
Spine is a display rather than an audio player and contains no audio hardware or audio output. Music playback is handled by the user’s existing equipment.
Selecting an album on Apple Music, or through Apple Music, Tidal or Spotify with a Sonos system, starts playback without needing to interact with the phone. For Spotify and Tidal users without Sonos, playback is started with a single tap in the app.
Audio can be played through existing equipment, including HiFi systems, HomePod speakers and headphones.

SPINE FEATURES A 28-INCH DISPLAY AND ALUMINIUM CONSTRUCTION
The display measures 28 inches and has a bar-format resolution of 1920 x 360. Its front panel uses matte etched glass, designed to reduce glare and reflections, while the body is made from brushed gunmetal aluminium.
Measuring approximately 76 x 19 x 8 cm and weighing around 7 kg, Spine uses a single power cable. It can be wall-mounted or used free-standing on a shelf, without requiring installation.
SPINE MUSIC PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Spine launched on Kickstarter last month, with early backer pricing starting at £849, compared with a stated retail price of £949 following the campaign. The initial campaign is available to UK customers only, with direct orders for Europe and the United States planned for 2027. An international waiting list is available through the Spine Music website.
HiFi PiG says: Spine brings a physical, browsable album collection to the streaming age, offering an alternative to scrolling through music apps. Its appeal will depend on how much listeners value having their digital music library displayed as part of their living space.
