Pro-Ject Debut Carbon The Original Turntable
PRO-JECT DEBUT CARBON THE ORIGINAL TURNTABLE CONTINUES THE DEBUT LEGACY
Pro-Ject has introduced the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon The Original, a new turntable joining its established Debut range.
The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon The Original Turntable combines the series’ one-piece carbon-fibre tonearm with a precision belt-drive system and a pre-adjusted Pick it S2 MM cartridge.

THE PRO-JECT DEBUT RANGE
The Debut range was first launched in Austria in 1998 by Pro-Ject founder Heinz Lichtenegger and Laurence Armstrong, Managing Director of Henley Audio. The Debut Carbon followed in 2012, introducing the one-piece carbon-fibre tonearm. Pro-Ject says the Debut family has now sold more than one million units.

PRO-JECT DEBUT CARBON THE ORIGINAL DESIGN AND FINISHES
The new model retains the familiar Debut styling and is available in three finishes: High Gloss Black, Satin Black and Real Wood Walnut. Its plinth is CNC-machined from high-density MDF with a solid internal construction.
PRECISION BELT-DRIVE SYSTEM
The turntable uses a 1.7kg steel platter mounted on a glass-fibre-reinforced ABS sub-platter. Drive is provided by a precision belt and aluminium pulley, with a TPE motor suspension designed to reduce vibration reaching the plinth.
A DC/AC generator supplies the AC motor with a controlled signal to support stable platter speed and quiet operation.

TONEARM AND PICK IT S2 MM CARTRIDGE
The one-piece carbon-fibre tonearm incorporates an integrated tube and headshell, supported by a low-friction, CNC-milled aluminium bearing block. An adaptive anti-skating mechanism adjusts across the record surface, while a TPE-damped counterweight is designed to reduce arm and cartridge resonances by up to 50%.
The supplied Pick it S2 MM cartridge is manufactured by Ortofon and tuned by Pro-Ject. It features an elliptical stylus and comes pre-adjusted. The package also includes an acrylic dust cover, felt mat and Connect it Phono E RCA cable.
Each Debut Carbon The Original is hand-made in Europe.
Pro-Ject states that it guarantees spare-parts availability for 25 years for its phono products and 10 years for its HiFi electronics. The company says this reflects its approach to product longevity, repairability and modular design.
PRO-JECT DEBUT CARBON THE ORIGINAL PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon The Original is scheduled to launch in the UK in November 2026, priced at £499.Available through Henley Audio’s dealer network.
HiFi PiG says: A stylish looking addition to the Pro-Ject Debut family!
