MARANTZ MODEL 70 AND CD 70 EXPAND ENTRY-LEVEL HIFI RANGE
Marantz has announced the new Marantz MODEL 70 integrated amplifier and Marantz CD 70 CD player, expanding its entry-level HiFi range.
The new Marantz MODEL70 Amplifier and Marantz CD 70 build on the company’s earlier PM6007 amplifier and CD6007 player, combining updated styling with new features while continuing to focus on two-channel music playback.
MARANTZ MODEL 70 FEATURES
The MODEL 70 is a Class A/B integrated amplifier delivering 50W per channel. It uses a current-feedback amplification design, an upgraded power supply with a larger toroidal transformer, Marantz HDAM circuitry and an integrated DAC for digital sources. An MM phono stage is also included for turntable users.
For modern system integration, the amplifier includes HDMI ARC for TV audio, Bluetooth with receive and transmit capability supporting aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, AAC and SBC codecs, along with a range of analogue and digital inputs. Pre-amplifier and subwoofer outputs are also provided for flexible system configuration.
MARANTZ CD 70 DISC AND DIGITAL PLAYBACK
Designed for CD and digital music playback, the CD 70 shares the same DAC platform and HDAM circuitry used in the MODEL 70. In addition to CD playback, the front-panel USB-A input supports high-resolution audio files including FLAC HD, ALAC, AIFF and DSD formats.
The player also incorporates a revised power supply, double-layer chassis base, rigid isolation feet and copper hardware intended to reduce noise and vibration. A built-in discrete headphone amplifier with adjustable gain and automatic headphone detection is included for headphone listening.
DESIGN AND SYSTEM INTEGRATION
Both components adopt Marantz’s current full-width design language and will be available in Black and Silver-Gold finishes. The company says the products have been engineered with revised internal layouts, vibration-resistant construction and updated packaging using FSC-certified carton materials and reduced plastic content.
Marantz positions the MODEL 70 and CD 70 as complementary components designed to work together as a complete two-channel HiFi system while also offering standalone flexibility.
MARANTZ MODEL 70 AND MARANTZ CD 70 PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The Marantz MODEL 70 integrated amplifier is priced at €850 / £749 and is not available in North America. The Marantz CD 70 CD player is priced at $750 / €600 / £499. The CD 70 is scheduled to be available from 15th August 2026 through selected retailers.
