Lowther Loudspeakers Open Weekend
LOWTHER LOUDSPEAKERS OPEN WEEKEND SHOWCASES VOIGT HORN SYSTEMS IN NORTHAMPTON
Lowther Loudspeakers will host an open weekend event on the 8th and 9th of May 2026 at its demonstration rooms in the Phipps Brewery Tower.
The event will follow the company’s established format of informal, drop-in sessions, allowing visitors to explore a range of loudspeaker systems and learn more about the brand’s heritage.

LOWTHER LOUDSPEAKERS VOIGT HORN SYSTEMS ON DEMONSTRATION
A central focus of the weekend will be demonstrations of both 2ft and 4ft Voigt horn loudspeaker designs equipped with field coil drivers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to spend time with the latest 2ft Voigt Horns and accompanying bass units, which continue Lowther’s long-standing design approach centred on geometry and system integration.
ANALOGUE SOURCE AND PLAYBACK
Playback during the event will include a Sony Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder using a first-generation direct copy of Dream Like a Dogwood Wild Boy by Binker Golding, released by Gearbox Records. This source will form part of the demonstration system, alongside other loudspeaker setups available across the weekend.
LOWTHER LOUDSPEAKERS OPEN WEEKEND FORMAT
The open weekend is designed as a relaxed, accessible event rather than a formal demonstration schedule. Visitors can move freely between systems, listen to different configurations, and discuss products with the Lowther team. These events are typically held a few times each year and provide an opportunity to experience the full range of the company’s loudspeaker designs in one location.
VENUE AND VISITOR INFORMATION
The demonstration rooms are located within the Phipps Brewery Tower, with the brewery taproom situated below the listening space. Entry is by prior contact, with interested visitors invited to arrange attendance directly with Lowther via the link in our HiFi Diary here.
