LOEWE TECHNOLOGY ACQUIRES CABASSE: FRENCH ACOUSTICS MEET GERMAN ENGINEERING

Loewe Acquires Cabasse hifi news

Loewe Technology has announced the acquisition of French HiFi brand Cabasse, bringing together two established European brands in the premium audio and video sector.

The deal, confirmed on 22 April 2026, signals a move by Loewe to expand its position in high-end home entertainment by incorporating Cabasse’s expertise in loudspeaker design and acoustic engineering.

CABASSE HERITAGE AND TECHNOLOGY

Founded in 1950 and based in Brest, France, Cabasse has built a reputation around in-house acoustic research and proprietary driver technologies, including coaxial designs. Its portfolio includes high-end active loudspeakers such as the Cabasse Sphere Evo, as well as connected audio systems supported by a dedicated software ecosystem. Following the acquisition, Cabasse will retain its brand identity, operational independence, and research and development activities in Brittany.

LOEWE TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY

Loewe, founded in 1923, is known for premium televisions and AV products, including models such as the Loewe Stellar TV. The company says the acquisition forms part of a broader strategy to build an integrated ecosystem of luxury consumer electronics. Cabasse’s technology portfolio, including digital signal processing and patented acoustic solutions, is expected to play a role in future Loewe product development.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PLANS

The two companies indicate that the partnership will focus on developing integrated home cinema systems, multi-room audio solutions, and new wireless products. There are also plans to incorporate Cabasse’s acoustic calibration and optimisation technologies into future Loewe ranges, alongside expanded customisation features. Loewe will also provide Cabasse with access to its international distribution and sales infrastructure.

INVESTMENT AND GLOBAL EXPANSION

Loewe has stated it will support Cabasse through investment in staffing, infrastructure, and product development. The aim is to increase Cabasse’s global reach while maintaining its existing operations in France. Both companies describe the arrangement as a strategic partnership intended to support long-term growth rather than a structural merger of brands.

Executives from both companies have described the acquisition as an opportunity to combine design-led engineering with established acoustic expertise. Cabasse will continue to operate from Brest, while benefiting from Loewe’s international platform. The collaboration is expected to result in new high-end AV products that integrate both brands’ technologies within a unified offering.
