km5 Reveals A Slim Speaker And A Wireless Music Mixer

Japanese audio brand km5 has revealed two additions to its compact music system: the Sp1 Bluetooth speaker and the Mp1 wireless mixer. One is designed for everyday listening; the other lets you bring two music sources together and experiment with a mix.

There is an important catch before anyone starts saving up: prices have not been announced. The products were first shown just over a week ago, with the company’s press release following later, and neither is an immediate shop purchase.

Quick Reference

  • Products: km5 Sp1 portable speaker and Mp1 wireless mixer
  • Prices: Not announced; affordability cannot yet be judged
  • Preorders: Scheduled to open on km5’s official store on 16 November 2026
  • Shipping: Planned from February 2027; UK availability unconfirmed

Sp1 Brings A Speaker To The System

The slim Sp1 uses two 45mm full-range drivers and two passive radiators. It supports Bluetooth listening, with a claimed battery life of around 12 hours. Two units can be linked for stereo, separating the left and right channels across a pair of speakers.

An FM radio and microSD playback offer alternatives to playing music from a phone. Radio recording to microSD is also listed. The speaker can be wall-mounted, and its shape is intended to complement km5’s existing Cp1 CD player. That CD player is a separate product, not something built into the Sp1.

Mp1 Lets You Try Mixing

The Mp1 accepts two Bluetooth sources and can send its output wirelessly to a speaker. Line input and output connections are included too. Three-band EQ, a filter and a loop function give beginners ways to experiment with the music, while battery life is quoted at around six hours.

It is worth waiting for the final price, connection details and hands-on tests before treating it as a first DJ setup. Bluetooth mixing is not automatically the same experience as a conventional DJ controller, and no claim of automatic beatmatching should be assumed.

What The Terms Mean

Passive radiator: An unpowered moving surface used to help a speaker reproduce bass.

Stereo: Separate left and right audio channels.

EQ: Controls that adjust frequency ranges such as bass and treble.

Loop: A passage of audio that repeats.

Preorder: An order placed before a product is ready to ship.
