The Happening Audio Event Details
ABSOLUTE SOUNDS PRESENTS THE HAPPENING IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE THIS OCTOBER
Following Absolute Sounds’ announcement of The Happening, the company has now released further details of the audio event, which takes place at Haycock Manor Hotel in Wansford, Cambridgeshire, on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2026.
The Happening will bring together a range of audio systems, manufacturers, music-related activities and live performances across the weekend.
SIX LISTENING ROOMS AT THE HAPPENING
Six rooms will feature systems assembled by Absolute Sounds, with equipment from High End HiFi brands including Antipodes Audio, dCS, Nagra, Audio Research, Constellation Audio, Dan D’Agostino, DeVore Fidelity, Magico and Wilson Audio. Vinyl equipment will include products from Analog Relax, Döhmann Audio, Reed, TechDAS and Thiele, alongside supports and cables from brands including Artesania Audio, Ikigai Audio, Transparent Audio and Zikra Audio.
INTERNATIONAL MUSIC MIXOLOGISTS AT THE HAPPENING
The event will also feature what Absolute Sounds calls its ‘international music mixologists’, with participants from America, Denmark, France, Italy and Switzerland sharing recordings from their personal collections. The programme will explore their musical choices and the recordings they have selected to play through the systems.

Absolute Sounds says 26 audio brands will be represented, with founders, CEOs, designers and brand ambassadors attending from around the world. Visitors will have opportunities to meet representatives, ask questions and hear more about the ideas, engineering and craftsmanship behind the products.

THE HAPPENING INCLUDES Q&AS AND LIVE MUSIC
HiFi+ Editor Alan Sircom will host a series of Q&A sessions during the weekend, bringing together industry figures to discuss personalities, ideas and technologies in high-end audio. Live music will include the Dust Me Down Blues Band on Saturday evening, while Sunday will feature Palestinian oud player Nizar Rohana and Dutch double bassist Tony Overwater. Nagra recording engineer Matthieu Latour will record both performances.
VINYL, SOUND BATHS AND TICKETS
Other activities include 20-minute introductory sound bath sessions led by psychologist and wellbeing specialist Kasia Richter, as well as vinyl sellers offering records to browse and buy.
The entrance fee is £5, plus a £1.13 Eventbrite booking fee, with the £5 ticket price going to Cancer Research UK.
