LAMPIZATOR HORIZON 2 DAC ANNOUNCED
Polish HiFi brand LampizatOr has announced the LampizatOr Horizon 2 DAC, the latest development of its Horizon platform.
The new LampizatOr Horizon 2 DAC follows the Horizon 360 and incorporates several technologies developed during the company’s work on its Aphrodite DAC, including a redesigned analogue stage, a new SuperVolume architecture, updated processing and display systems, and a new 3xBNC digital interface.

According to LampizatOr, the Horizon 2’s analogue stage has been redesigned following four years of development. The DAC also introduces a new SuperVolume implementation, an updated processor and OLED display, Aphrodite-style remote functionality and the company’s latest 3xBNC digital interface.
The manufacturer says the new developments were incorporated while retaining the Horizon platform’s existing chassis dimensions, tubes and output capacitors. LampizatOr has also designed the new developments to be retrofittable to existing Horizon 1, Horizon 360 and Horizon 360X DACs.
LAMPIZATOR HORIZON 2 DAC FEATURES
The Horizon 2 uses a proprietary firmware-driven conversion process supporting PCM up to 1520kHz and DSD1024, although the published parameters list DSD512 and PCM 768kHz. The design uses 6SN7 conversion tubes and KT88 output driver tubes, along with a tube-rectified power supply and a SuperVolume control with bypass functionality.
The rear panel includes USB, S/PDIF RCA, AES/EBU, TOSLINK and three i2S inputs, with a Taiko XDMI input available by request. There are also RCA and balanced XLR analogue inputs, RCA and XLR outputs, plus a balanced XLR bypass output. The USB implementation includes DSD512 support, reclocking and optoisolation.
The Horizon 2 also features a new remote control with functions including phase, modulator, filter and display switching, together with setting-memory functions. The front panel uses a colour LCD display, replacing the previous Nixie-based arrangement.
LAMPIZATOR HORIZON 2 UPGRADE
LampizatOr says the Horizon 2 changes cover three principal areas for existing DACs: the digital engine, the analogue and preamplifier section, and the volume and input-handling section. The display and firmware section is also updated with a new front panel, display, four buttons, remote control and firmware.
Factory upgrades from Horizon 1 to Horizon 2 are scheduled to begin in November 2026 and will be offered through LampizatOr’s dealer network. The manufacturer also says the original Horizon 360 is being phased out, with refurbished H360X units available from existing stock.
SPECIFICATIONS
The Horizon 2 measures 440mm wide, 550mm deep and 170mm high without its tubes, increasing to 290mm with the tubes fitted. Net weight is 33kg, with a gross packed weight of 50kg. It has 110–115V, 220–230V and 240V AC options and a stated power consumption of 60VA.
The DAC is available in Matt Black Hole and Silver Sahara finishes. The removable top plate around the tubes can additionally be specified in Copper, Stainless Steel, Black Hole, Silver Sahara or Semi Translucent Red, with the finishes able to be mixed and matched.
LAMPIZATOR HORIZON 2 DAC PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
LampizatOr says the price of a new Horizon will remain unchanged throughout the remainder of 2026. Existing Horizon and Horizon 360 owners can have their DAC upgraded to full Horizon 2 specification for €12,000, with the complete factory upgrade incorporating the major changes to the platform.
HiFi PiG says: The Horizon 2 brings a substantial set of changes to LampizatOr’s established Horizon platform, while retaining the existing chassis and core tube configuration. The emphasis is on updating the digital, analogue, volume control and user interface sections, with the option for existing owners to bring earlier Horizon models up to the latest specification through the factory upgrade programme.
