LAIV Audio At TAS Shanghai 2026 hifi news

Singapore-based LAIV Audio is set to present its latest Crescendo Series products at the upcoming TAS Shanghai 2026 HiFi Show later this week.

The new additions include the LAIV Crescendo Chorus power amplifier and the LAIV Crescendo Verse all-in-one DAC, headphone amplifier and preamplifier.

The Crescendo range continues the company’s focus on compact audio components designed for desktop and full-size systems, with both products sharing the same chassis styling and compact footprint.

LAIV CRESCENDO CHORUS AMPLIFIER DESIGN

The LAIV Crescendo Chorus is a compact Class D power amplifier using GaN-FET (Gallium Nitride) amplification technology. According to LAIV, the amplifier delivers 50W per channel into 8 Ohms in stereo mode and can also operate in bridged mono configuration with a rated output of 120W into 8 Ohms.

The amplifier includes both balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs, alongside speaker binding posts for output connections. LAIV also states that the design incorporates DC, overload and high-temperature protection circuits.

The Chorus is intended for use in both traditional loudspeaker systems and smaller desktop audio setups, with the company highlighting its low-heat operation and compact dimensions.

LAIV CRESCENDO VERSE

The LAIV Crescendo Verse combines several functions into a single unit, including an R2R DAC, headphone amplifier and analogue preamplifier. The DAC section uses LAIV’s proprietary balanced R2R ladder architecture alongside FPGA-based digital processing.

Digital inputs include USB, optical, coaxial and I2S via HDMI, while analogue outputs are available on both balanced XLR and RCA connections. The unit also includes 6.35mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs on the front panel.

The Verse supports both PCM and DSD playback formats and offers selectable NOS (Non-Oversampling) and SRC upsampling modes. Users can select various PCM and DSD upsampling settings, depending on system requirements and playback preferences.

LAIV CRESCENDO VERSE AND CHORUS SYSTEM FLEXIBILITY

LAIV positions the Crescendo components as flexible products suited to modern desktop and compact audio systems. The Verse can operate as a standalone DAC, headphone amplifier or preamplifier feeding active loudspeakers or a separate power amplifier such as the Chorus.

Both units follow the company’s existing industrial design language, with aluminium enclosures, compact dimensions and front-panel displays. The Crescendo range sits below the company’s Harmony Series products in the overall lineup.

TAS SHANGHAI 2026 HIFI SHOW

The TAS Shanghai 2026 HiFi Show will provide one of the first major public demonstrations of the Crescendo Chorus alongside the recently launched Crescendo Verse.

The show takes place from the 15th to 17th May 2026 at the Shanghai International Convention Center and is one of the larger HiFi exhibitions in the region, featuring international audio manufacturers across headphone, loudspeaker and two-channel categories.

HiFi PiG says: HiFi PiG’s Gyula will be checking out the new products from LAIV at the show later this week.
