HiFi PiG LAUNCHES STARTING OUT, A NEW HOME FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF AUDIOPHILES

HiFi PiG Launches Starting Out – A New Home for the Next Generation of Audiophiles hifi news

HiFi PiG is delighted to announce the launch of Starting Out, a new initiative dedicated to helping younger people take their first steps into the world of quality music listening.

Led by Editor Alban Skipworth, a younger enthusiast himself, Starting Out was created specifically for those curious about better sound but with little or no experience of traditional HiFi.

Whether that means buying a first pair of headphones, choosing an entry-level turntable, exploring desktop audio, or putting together a first stereo system, Starting Out will provide honest, approachable guidance without the jargon that can often make the hobby seem intimidating. We’ll also be adding our “HiFi Decoder” jargon-buster to the pages to help readers navigate the sometimes confusing language that many of us take for granted.

“Getting into HiFi can seem pretty confusing when you first start looking at it. There are loads of different products, loads of jargon, and people often assume you already know what everything means. With Starting Out, I want us to look at HiFi from the point of view of someone who is actually new to it. We’ll explain things simply, look at equipment people my age might realistically want and be able to afford, and hopefully show that getting better sound from the music you love doesn’t have to be complicated or ridiculously expensive. I’m really excited to be part of it and to see where we can take Starting Out.”

STARTING OUT

Starting Out will form part of the HiFi PiG website, but it will have its own prominent identity, with a dedicated, high-profile link appearing across the website to ensure it is always easy to find. While benefiting from HiFi PiG’s established reputation and audience, Starting Out will have its own voice, personality and editorial focus, speaking directly to a younger generation beginning their audiophile journey.

Some readers may never progress beyond a great pair of headphones or a simple vinyl system, and that’s perfectly fine. Others may go on to build more ambitious systems and become lifelong enthusiasts. Our aim is not to dictate where that journey should end, but simply to help more people take the first step with confidence.

For the audio industry, this represents an important opportunity.

Manufacturers, distributors and dealers have long recognised that attracting younger enthusiasts into HiFi is essential for the long-term health of the hobby. Starting Out has been created with exactly that challenge in mind. Rather than simply reviewing products, it will explain technologies, answer beginner questions, demystify buying decisions and demonstrate that enjoying better sound doesn’t require decades of experience or an unlimited budget.

Coverage will include affordable headphones, loudspeakers, amplifiers, turntables, streamers, desktop audio, wireless products and carefully selected entry-level systems. However, being a part of the HiFi PiG ecosystem, readers will naturally also be introduced to aspirational mid-range and high-end products, helping them understand what is possible as their interest grows. The objective is to create a clear pathway into the wider world of HiFi rather than treating entry-level products in isolation.

HiFi PiG is now inviting manufacturers, distributors and retailers to become involved with Starting Out ahead of its official launch.

We are keen to hear from companies offering products that genuinely represent excellent value for newcomers to the hobby, as well as brands with products that inspire people to continue their journey. We are equally interested in educational opportunities, product demonstrations and ideas that help make quality audio more accessible to younger listeners.

Starting Out is not simply another review section. It is an investment in the future of our hobby.

For further information or to discuss how your company can become involved with Starting Out, please contact the HiFi PiG editorial team.
