The new Nagra AMP II-S stereo power amplifier is ready to commence shipping; you can hear it in Warsaw and Tokyo.
Made in Romanel-sur-Lausanne, Switzerland, the Nagra AMP II-S Stereo Power Amplifier is the latest addition to Nagra’s Series II range and follows the introduction of the PREAMP II-S.
The Nagra AMP II-S Stereo Power Amplifier is designed as a partner for the Nagra PREAMP II-S (read our review here), while also being intended for use in a range of high-end audio systems.
NAGRA AMP II-S STEREO POWER AMPLIFIER
The Nagra AMP II-S succeeds the Nagra Classic AMP, which was introduced in 2015. Nagra says the new amplifier builds on the qualities of its predecessor, with its development informed by more than a decade of experience with the company’s HD and Reference electronics.
The design has been revised across several areas, including the power supply, input stage, circuit layout, thermal management and mechanical construction.
NAGRA AMP II-S POWER SUPPLY
The amplifier uses a new linear power supply built around a custom-made 800 VA potted transformer. It delivers 120 W RMS per channel into 8 ohms, with the first 10 W operating in Class A. A single pair of MOSFET output transistors is used for each channel.
The new input board is derived from the Reference AMP, while revised circuit layouts, internal wiring and optically isolated controls are also part of the design.
NAGRA AMP II-S CONSTRUCTION
Mechanical construction includes a CNC-machined heatsink designed to provide thermal inertia and reduce unwanted vibrations. A dedicated transformer suspension is also used to limit the transmission of mechanical vibrations.
The AMP II-S retains Nagra’s front-panel MODULOMETER, a feature inherited from the company’s professional recording equipment.

The amplifier will also be presented at Audio Video Show 2026 in Warsaw, Poland, and Tokyo International Audio Show 2026 in Tokyo, both taking place from October 23rd – 25th. Further demonstrations and events are planned with Nagra distributors and dealers internationally.
