Naim Mu-so Utopia All-In-One Immersive HiFi System
NAIM MU-SO UTOPIA LAUNCHED
Naim has introduced the new Naim Mu-so Utopia, an all-in-one immersive HiFi system combining streaming, amplification, digital signal processing and multi-channel audio in a single enclosure.
The Naim Mu-so Utopia is the most powerful Mu-so system developed by Naim to date, with 720W of amplification, 15 speaker drivers and Dolby Atmos compatibility.
NAIM MU-SO UTOPIA IMMERSIVE AUDIO
The Mu-so Utopia uses Naim’s Pulse Platform (NPP) as its digital processing and streaming platform, supporting high-resolution audio up to 384kHz/32-bit. Naim’s DSP handles frequency management, time alignment, phase control, spatialisation and speaker protection. ADAPT (Adaptive Acoustic Personal Tuning) adjusts the system’s performance according to the dimensions of the listening room and is configured through the Focal & Naim app.
FOCAL SPEAKER DRIVERS
The system comprises 15 speaker drivers: three 6-inch woofers, two 2.75-inch M-profile W-cone midrange drivers and two 1-inch PRISM tweeters on the front, with four full-range drivers on each side and four on top. The W-cone midrange drivers and PRISM tweeters use Focal technologies, with the PRISM tweeters manufactured in France.
NAIM MU-SO UTOPIA STREAMING AND MULTIROOM
For streaming, the Mu-so Utopia supports AirPlay, Google Cast, Bluetooth and UPnP, alongside Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, Presto Music and QQ Music in China. Multiroom functionality allows the system to be integrated with other products in the Focal & Naim ecosystem, while the Focal & Naim app provides control of content and settings.
The system can also be controlled using compatible Google and Apple voice assistants, as well as widgets on smartphones and Android Wear or Apple Watch smartwatches. A rotary, touch-sensitive control on the unit provides access to volume and playback functions.
DOLBY ATMOS AND HOME CINEMA
The Mu-so Utopia is designed for both music and audiovisual content. HDMI eARC and Toslink optical inputs allow connection to a television, games console or CD/Blu-ray player, while Dolby Atmos support provides configurations up to 7.1.2. The system uses seven drivers at the front, two on each side and four on top, with beamforming and Crosstalk Cancellation technologies forming part of its spatialisation system.
Several audio modes are available through the Focal & Naim app, including Dolby Movie, Dolby Music, Sphere Music, Sphere Movie, Sphere Video Game, Sphere Podcast and Night Mode. Dolby Atmos music can be accessed through Apple Music via AirPlay 2, Tidal through the Focal & Naim app and Presto Music integration.
NAIM MU-SO UTOPIA DESIGN AND CONNECTIONS
The Mu-so Utopia features a deep black anodised aluminium alloy enclosure with a brushed finish, perforated aluminium grilles and red trim. The system measures 11.8 x 100 x 29.5cm (H x W x D) and weighs 14.1kg.
