QED Performance Cable Range Expands
QED PERFORMANCE CABLE RANGE EXPANDS WITH NEW DIGITAL AND ANALOGUE CONNECTIVITY
QED has refreshed its QED Performance cable range, introducing a new speaker cable, matching bi-wire links and a selection of USB audio cables.
The 13-strong QED Performance Cable Range covers analogue and digital connections for HiFi and AV systems, including connections for vinyl, CD, TV audio and high-resolution streaming.

QED PERFORMANCE CABLE RANGE TAKES A NEW DESIGN DIRECTION
The QED Performance cable range now uses a softer, more flexible TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) outer jacket, alongside silver-grey connectors. QED says this visual design will also provide the direction for future updates to its Reference and Signature series. The cables use 99.999% oxygen-free copper conductors, with 24K gold-plated contacts, while the USB models use nickel-plated connectors.

QED PERFORMANCE SPEAKER CABLE
At the centre of the QED Performance cable range is the new Performance Speaker Cable, which features a 2.5mm² conductor area and 99.999% oxygen-free copper. It incorporates QED’s X-Tube™ Plus technology and is supplied with factory-fitted Airloc™ gold-plated plugs and spades. QED states that the design is intended to minimise resistance and maintain signal accuracy across the audio spectrum.
QED PERFORMANCE AUDIO INTERCONNECT
The Performance Audio cable is a phono-to-phono interconnect designed to complement the new speaker cable. It uses Solid Complementary Conductor Technology™, 99.999% oxygen-free copper, advanced shielding and Ferrite Insulation Technology™. A flexible TPE jacket and gold-plated phono connectors are also specified.
QED PERFORMANCE CABLE RANGE ADDS DIGITAL CONNECTIVITY
The QED Performance cable range now includes USB, optical, Ethernet and digital audio cables. USB options comprise A-to-B, A-to-C, C-to-C and C-to-B configurations, while optical, Ethernet and digital audio cables are offered in several lengths. The range also includes 3.5mm-to-3.5mm and 3.5mm-to-phono connections, alongside dedicated subwoofer cables.
PACKAGING AND ENGINEERING
QED has revised the packaging for the QED Performance cable range, reducing plastic in favour of recyclable paper-based materials where possible. The products comply with RoHS and REACH requirements, while the USB cables carry independent USB-IF compliance certification. The press release notes that the Speaker Cable is excluded from the TPE jacket specification and instead uses LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene).
QED says the QED Performance cable range has been developed using its evidence-led approach to cable design, informed by research from its Genesis Report. The company also highlights its history in specialist cable design, dating back to the launch of its 79 Strand speaker cable in 1979.
QED PERFORMANCE CABLE RANGE PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The QED Performance cable range is available now. UK pricing starts at £29 for selected Ethernet and USB cables. The Performance 2M Speaker Cable is £119, the Performance Bi-wire Links 0.2M are £99, and the Performance Audio 0.75M interconnect is £49. The 5M Speaker Cable is £179, with pricing for the other models varying according to type and length. The press release states that US availability is planned for late November.
HiFi PiG says: The refreshed QED Performance cable range broadens QED’s offering across analogue and digital connections, with new USB options joining speaker, phono, subwoofer, optical, Ethernet and digital audio cables. The updated range provides a selection of connection types and lengths for contemporary HiFi and AV systems.
