NAIM AUDIO UNITI STAR LITE ALL-IN-ONE STREAMING MUSIC SYSTEM ANNOUNCED
Naim Audio has announced the new Naim Audio Uniti Star Lite All-In-One Streaming System, available exclusively in the UK and Europe.
Positioned as an evolution of the Uniti range, the Naim Uniti Star Lite combines streaming, amplification and source connectivity in a single component. Naim says the model has been developed with a streamlined internal architecture and a focus on modern listening habits, with streaming and digital sources at its core.
NAIM AUDIO UNITI STAR LITE STREAMING AND MUSIC SERVICES
The Uniti Star Lite uses Naim’s NP800 streaming card and supports internet radio, Spotify Connect, TIDAL and TIDAL Connect, Qobuz and Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2, Chromecast Built-In, UPnP servers, USB-attached storage and Roon Ready operation. Bluetooth is also included, alongside support for a range of digital audio formats including WAV, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC and DSD. Gapless playback is supported across all listed formats.
70W AMPLIFICATION AND SOURCE CONNECTIONS
At the heart of the all-in-one player is a Class AB amplifier rated at 70 Watts into 8 Ohms at 0.1% THD+N. Connections include analogue RCA and 5-pin DIN inputs, a sub/pre output, a 3.5mm headphone output, two USB Type-A sockets, two optical TOSLINK inputs, two coaxial RCA inputs, a BNC input and HDMI ARC. An SD card input is also specified.
CONTROL AND MULTIROOM FEATURES
Control is provided through the Focal & Naim app for iOS and Android, with a bi-directional ZigBee remote also included. The Uniti Star Lite has a 5-inch colour display and front-panel buttons for standby, play/pause, input selection and favourites. It can also be integrated into multiroom systems with other Naim and Focal streaming products, with the specifications stating that it can serve up to four network-connected players via UPnP at full CD quality and synchronise up to six compatible streamers in Party Mode. Voice control via Google Assistant and Apple Siri is supported.
NAIM AUDIO UNITI STAR LITE DESIGN AND NETWORKING
The Uniti Star Lite measures 95 x 432 x 265mm and weighs 11kg. It offers wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, with Wi-Fi diversity antennas built into the heatsink. The system is specified with galvanic isolation between its control and audio circuits and uses two internal power supplies, including a linear supply based around a toroidal transformer and an SMPSU. Standby consumption is listed at less than 0.5W, while network standby consumption is under 2W.
