Yamaha WXA-70A Streaming Amplifier And Yamaha WXC-70A Streaming Pre-Amplifier
YAMAHA WXA-70A AND WXC-70A COMPACT HI-FI COMPONENTS INTRODUCED
Yamaha has announced the WXA-70A Compact Streaming Amplifier and WXC-70A Compact Streaming Pre-Amplifier, two new compact components combining network streaming, digital connectivity and system integration features.
Both the Yamaha WXA-70A Streaming Amplifier and Yamaha WXC-70A Streaming Pre-Amplifier use an ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC and support Yamaha’s MusicCast multi-room platform.

YAMAHA WXA-70A STREAMING AMPLIFIER
The Yamaha WXA-70A combines network streaming with ICEpower 125ASX2 Class D amplification. Yamaha rates its output at 70W per channel into 8 Ohms and 105W per channel into 4 Ohms, from 20Hz to 20kHz at 1% THD under IEC/FTC measurement conditions.
It also includes HDMI eARC for TV audio, alongside inputs for sources including a turntable and CD player. Yamaha says the WXA-70A is designed to drive a wide range of loudspeakers while retaining a compact chassis.

YAMAHA WXC-70A STREAMING PRE-AMPLIFIER
The WXC-70A is intended for adding network audio to an existing HiFi system. It offers analogue and digital outputs, together with player and pre-amplifier modes, allowing it to be used in a variety of system configurations.
Like the amplifier, it features HDMI eARC, MusicCast and the ES9039Q2M DAC, with Yamaha also listing inputs for sources including a turntable and CD player.

YAMAHA DIGITAL AUDIO TECHNOLOGY
Both models use Yamaha’s D.O.P.G. (DAC on Pure Ground) circuit configuration, with digital and analogue sections separated as part of the internal layout. They also incorporate ASRC technology, which rebuilds incoming timing before the signal reaches the DAC using the units’ internal clock.
High-resolution input support and internal DSP processing form part of the digital architecture, while the components feature aluminium enclosures, reinforced chassis construction, damping materials and heat-management measures.
YAMAHA WXA-70A AND WXC-70A ROOM CALIBRATION
The WXA-70A and WXC-70A include Yamaha YPAO (Yamaha Parametric room Acoustic Optimizer). Using the supplied microphone, the system measures the listening environment and adjusts playback to account for factors including room shape, materials and speaker placement.

STREAMING FEATURES
HDMI eARC/ARC allows both models to connect to a compatible TV using a single cable, with compatible TV remote controls able to handle power and volume. Both also feature Dialogue Level control, designed to adjust vocal clarity without increasing overall volume.
Network streaming support includes AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect and Roon Ready. MusicCast allows compatible Yamaha devices to be controlled and linked for multi-room playback via the MusicCast app. A supplied remote control and front-panel OLED display are also included.
CUSTOM INSTALLATION OPTIONS
Yamaha has also equipped the new components with features aimed at custom installation. Both support Control4, web-based setup, a dedicated IR input and 12V trigger connections. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can be disabled individually during installation, while the compact format is designed to support rack-shelf installation.
YAMAHA WXA-70A AND WXC-70A PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The Yamaha WXA-70A will cost £1,199 / $1,300 / AU$1,999, while the Yamaha WXC-70A will cost £859 / $1,000 / AU$1,599. Both models are scheduled to be available in November.
