Bluesound has introduced the new Bluesound PULSE SUB, a redesigned wireless powered subwoofer designed for use with the company’s BluOS ecosystem.

The Bluesound PULSE SUB features a 350-watt amplifier, dual-opposing 6.5-inch woofers and wireless integration with compatible Bluesound products, targeting music, TV, films and gaming systems.

The subwoofer can be paired with products including the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI soundbars, as well as the POWERNODE streaming amplifier. Bluesound says the PULSE SUB can also be used with other Bluesound Players, including the PULSE M and PULSE FLEX.

BLUESOUND PULSE SUB USES DUAL-OPPOSING WOOFERS

At the centre of the Bluesound PULSE SUB are two custom 6.5-inch woofers arranged in an opposing configuration and powered by a 350-watt amplifier with Smart DSP technology. According to Bluesound, the new model offers 2.5 times more power than the previous generation.

The opposing driver arrangement is intended to counteract mechanical forces generated by the woofers, reducing unwanted cabinet vibration and resonance while the drivers reproduce low frequencies.

BLUESOUND PULSE SUB INTEGRATION AND CONNECTIONS

The PULSE SUB connects wirelessly to compatible Bluesound products through the BluOS platform. Users can connect it to a network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet and pair it with a compatible Bluesound Player using the BluOS Controller app.

Once connected, the app provides controls for subwoofer volume, crossover frequency and phase. A low line-level analogue input is also included, allowing the PULSE SUB to be used as a wired active subwoofer with other audio systems.

For home theatre applications, the PULSE SUB has been designed to work alongside the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI wireless soundbars. It can also form part of a wider Bluesound system, with the company highlighting its use with products such as the POWERNODE and PULSE FLEX.

The wireless setup is intended to simplify adding a subwoofer to an existing BluOS system, while the available volume, crossover and phase adjustments allow users to tailor its operation to their room and system.

COMPACT DESIGN AND CABLE MANAGEMENT

Bluesound says the PULSE SUB occupies just over one square foot of floor space. Its redesigned cabinet follows the styling of the company’s latest PULSE wireless speakers, with soft contours, tonal-weave fabric grilles and matte satin finishes.

The cabinet also incorporates cable management channels designed to keep wired connections routed out of sight. Wireless operation provides additional flexibility when positioning the subwoofer, while Ethernet and the analogue line-level input offer wired connection options.

BLUESOUND PULSE SUB PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The Bluesound PULSE SUB will be available later in 2026. The press release lists pricing of €999, while the UK price is stated only as £849.

HiFi PiG says: A great little compact sub from Bluesound to join their home cinema collection.
