German manufacturer in-akustik has expanded its Reference Micro AIR Series with two new cable models: the NF-404 Micro AIR interconnect cable and the AC-404 Micro AIR mains cable.

The additions extend In-Akustik’s Micro AIR Technology beyond loudspeaker cables, meaning the 404 range now includes a loudspeaker cable, an interconnect cable and a mains cable, all developed using the same design principles.

IN-AKUSTIK NF-404 MICRO AIR INTERCONNECT

The NF-404 Micro AIR is designed for analogue audio connections between source components and amplifiers. It combines in-akustik’s Micro AIR Technology with a newly developed Guided Copper conductor architecture, which uses PE spacers to maintain a defined geometry for the oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors.

According to in-akustik, this construction is intended to reduce conductor interaction and noise while maintaining a stable signal path. The cable also features a fully symmetrical design and dual shielding to help reduce electromagnetic interference. It is available with RCA or XLR connectors in lengths of 0.75m, 1.0m, 1.5m and 2.0m.

IN-AKUSTIK AC-404 MICRO AIR MAINS CABLE

The AC-404 Micro AIR applies the same engineering approach to mains power delivery. It features a newly developed six-fold Multicore architecture, which is designed to provide a low-impedance current path while reducing interaction between connected components.

The cable also incorporates the Micro AIR dielectric construction and dual shielding, with the aim of reducing capacitive losses and limiting the effects of high-frequency interference on nearby signal cables. Versions are available with SCHUKO-C15, SCHUKO-C19, NEMA-C15 and NEMA-C19 connectors in lengths of 1.0m, 1.5m and 2.0m.

MICRO AIR TECHNOLOGY

At the core of the Reference Micro AIR Series is in-akustik’s proprietary Micro AIR Technology. The design uses an internal mesh structure to create air-filled cells within the cable dielectric, increasing the proportion of air surrounding the conductors. The company says this approach reduces cable capacitance, with the aim of preserving signal transmission and reducing unwanted electrical interactions.

Both new cables use oxygen-free copper conductors, dual shielding and are designed and manufactured in Germany. Custom cable lengths are also available on request.

All Reference Micro AIR Series cables are developed and manufactured at in-akustik’s own facility in Ballrechten-Dottingen, Germany. Each cable is individually assembled before undergoing electrical testing and mechanical inspection.

IN-AKUSTIK NF-404 MICRO AIR AND AC-404 MICRO AIR PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The in-akustik NF-404 Micro AIR interconnect cable is available in RCA and XLR versions in lengths from 0.75m to 2.0m, with prices starting at €625 RRP.

The in-akustik AC-404 Micro AIR mains cable is available in SCHUKO-C15, SCHUKO-C19, NEMA-C15 and NEMA-C19 versions in lengths from 1.0m to 2.0m, with prices starting at €749 RRP.

HiFi PiG says: Interesting new additions to the German HiFi brand’s reference cable range.
