ICEpower SC400A2 Amplifier Platform
ICEPOWER SC400A2 AMPLIFIER PLATFORM INTRODUCED
Danish audio technology company ICEpower has announced the release of its new ICEPower SC400A2 amplifier platform alongside the 750S universal power supply.
The ICEpower SC400A2 is a compact two-channel Class D amplifier module rated at 400W and is the first product from the company to feature its new “Super Conductor” topology. The company says the design has been developed to improve signal integrity and reduce distortion in Class D amplification.

ICEPOWER SC400A2 AMPLIFIER PLATFORM
According to ICEpower, the SC400A2 uses a fully analogue signal chain with what it calls a Globally Controlled Oscillation Modulator (GCOM) and nested second-order negative feedback loops. The company states that the design approach focuses on correcting signal errors in the analogue domain rather than through fully digital processing.
ICEpower CTO Patrik Bostrøm explained that the development process required extensive component selection and layout optimisation. The company reports that the amplifier achieves THD+N figures of 0.0002% at 100W across the audio band, with a frequency response extending beyond 100kHz.

ICEPOWER SC400A2 DESIGNED FOR OEM INTEGRATION
The SC400A2 has been designed as an OEM module for integration into products including streaming amplifiers, active loudspeakers and studio monitors. ICEpower says the compact form factor is intended to simplify implementation for manufacturers and reduce development time.
Alongside the amplifier module, the new 750S universal power supply has been introduced as a matching off-the-shelf PSU. The 750S features active power factor correction, an LLC stage and auxiliary outputs, with ICEpower stating that the design also aims to minimise system noise.

ICEPOWER SC400A2 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The SC400A2 delivers 400W per channel into 4 Ohms in stereo mode and 800W into 8 Ohms when bridged. ICEpower also quotes an idle noise figure of 34uVrms A-weighted and a nominal voltage gain of 29.4dB.
The accompanying ICEpower750S1U power supply is rated at 750W output with 1200W peak capability and includes standby functionality plus auxiliary power outputs.
HiFi PiG says: An interesting new product for enthusiasts and HiFi manufacturers.
