Focal And Naim Join Barco Group
FOCAL AND NAIM JOIN BARCO GROUP FOLLOWING VERVENT AUDIO ACQUISITION
Following the announcement earlier this year regarding new ownership for VerVent Audio, the company behind Focal and Naim has now confirmed that its acquisition by Belgian technology company Barco has been completed.
VerVent Audio says the move brings Focal and Naim into the Barco Group portfolio, alongside the company’s existing activities in projection, visualisation and immersive technology solutions. The deal marks the next stage in the ownership changes first revealed in March.
BARCO AND VERVENT AUDIO TARGET AUDIOVISUAL GROWTH
According to the press release, the companies intend to focus on closer integration between sound and image technologies across both residential and professional markets.
VerVent Audio describes the acquisition as part of a longer-term strategy centred on continuity and stability for the Focal and Naim brands. The company also highlighted its existing international retail presence through more than 80 Focal Powered by Naim boutiques worldwide.
FOCAL AND NAIM REMAIN CORE TO STRATEGY
The statement outlines several areas the company sees as central to future development, including global brand growth, technology expertise and long-term market planning.
VerVent Audio CEO Cédrick Boutonet said the company intends to maintain the identity of both brands while benefiting from Barco’s industrial and technological capabilities.
VERVENT AUDIO BACKGROUND
VerVent Audio was formed in 2014 following the partnership between French loudspeaker manufacturer Focal and British electronics company Naim, which began in 2011.
Today, the group covers a wide range of audio categories including loudspeakers, headphones, streaming systems, amplification and integrated audio solutions for home, professional, automotive and marine applications.
