QUAD 3CDT CD TRANSPORT JOINS THE QUAD 3 SERIES
QUAD has added the QUAD 3CDT CD transport to its 3 Series, created to match the QUAD 3 integrated amplifier introduced earlier in 2025.
The QUAD 3CDT CD transport follows the same compact format and visual styling, combining a retro influence with contemporary engineering.
QUAD 3CDT CD TRANSPORT
The QUAD 3CDT features a 30cm-wide footprint, a matt silver front panel, a dark grey enclosure and an orange backlit LCD display. The design references earlier QUAD components while using modern materials and updated internal architecture.

As a transport, the QUAD 3CDT focuses solely on reading discs and supplying a digital output to an external DAC or amplifier. Separating the transport from the DAC stage reduces the possibility of electrical noise within the chassis, supporting cleaner signal transfer.

MECHANISM AND SERVO CONTROL IN THE QUAD 3CDT
The model includes a high-precision CD mechanism supported by a custom-designed servo system. A dual-core processing arrangement, using a 32-bit RISC CPU and a dedicated MCU, manages tracking, stability and error correction. The internal layout aims to limit vibration and electrical interference.

POWER SUPPLY AND CLOCKING STRUCTURE
The QUAD 3CDT uses an ultra-low-noise toroidal transformer with isolated pathways for different circuit stages. A temperature-controlled crystal oscillator provides the master clock, powered by an independent low-noise regulator. This is designed to maintain stable timing for the digital output.

The unit supports standard Red Book CDs alongside CD-R, CD-RW and data discs containing FLAC, WAV, WMA, MP3 and APE files. The transport is engineered to handle a range of disc conditions, including older or lightly marked discs.
