We Are Rewind has announced a limited edition version of its WE-001 cassette player created in collaboration with Pink Floyd, the We Are Rewind Pink Floyd WE-001 Cassette Player.
The special edition We Are Rewind Pink Floyd WE-001 Cassette Player package includes an exclusive cassette release of The Dark Side of the Moon, making it the only cassette edition of the album’s 50th anniversary remaster according to the company.

The collaboration continues We Are Rewind’s series of artist and band partnerships centred around cassette culture. The included cassette has been specially remastered for this release and is only available as part of the box set.
WE ARE REWIND WE-001 RETAINS MODERN FEATURES
The limited edition model is based on the existing WE-001 cassette player and retains the same combination of analogue cassette playback and modern connectivity.
Features include Bluetooth 5.1 for use with compatible wireless headphones, speakers and soundbars, a built-in rechargeable battery offering up to 12 hours of playback, a 3.5mm headphone output, and forward and rewind controls. The player also includes a line input for recording mixtapes or voice recordings with a compatible microphone.
According to We Are Rewind, the player has been designed with cassette playback in mind and offers a frequency response of 30Hz to 14.5kHz (±3dB). It features an aluminium construction with metal buttons, while an optional belt clip is available separately.
THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON AND CASSETTE CULTURE
We Are Rewind says The Dark Side of the Moon remains one of the best-known albums released on cassette and selected it for the collaboration because of its long association with the format.
“I still have enormous affection for the cassette. It really was a major breakthrough – not only with the Sony Walkman but with some of the more up-market recorders. I still have my Nakamichi on the shelf and look forward to testing it with the new The Dark Side of the Moon cassette. Am I correct in assuming that the next major issue will be The Dark Side of the Moon in a large package consisting of the album divided up into 78 RPM discs?”

CASSETTE FORMAT CONTINUES TO GROW
We Are Rewind also highlighted continued growth in cassette sales, citing year-on-year increases of 17.5% in the United States, excluding used cassette sales, and 53% in the UK over a ten-year period.
The company says the collaboration aims to celebrate the continuing appeal of physical music formats while combining vintage media with contemporary playback features.
