Volumio Lineo 5 Duo Dual-Output Linear Power Supply
VOLUDIO LINEO 5 DUO DESIGNED TO POWER TWO UNITS AT THE SAME TIME
Italian HiFi brand Volumio has introduced the Volumio Lineo 5 Duo, a dual-output linear power supply designed to power two compatible electronics simultaneously.
The new Volumio Lineo 5 Duo model follows the original Lineo 5 and is intended for use with Volumio products including the Rivo Plus and Preciso.
VOLUMIO LINEO 5 DUO DUAL-OUTPUT LINEAR POWER SUPPLY
The Volumio Lineo 5 Duo provides two independent outputs, each delivering 5V and 4A. Each output has its own dedicated regulation and filtering, allowing two pieces of equipment to be powered from a single unit while reducing the number of external power supplies and cables required.
According to Volumio, the Lineo 5 Duo uses audio-grade capacitors and a transformer designed to provide the required current. The company says the unit replaces external switching power supplies with a linear design intended to provide a stable power supply while minimising electrical noise.
UPGRADED TOROIDAL TRANSFORMER
At the centre of the Lineo 5 Duo is an upgraded toroidal transformer, which has been increased in size compared with the transformer used in the original Lineo 5. Volumio says this is intended to provide sufficient power capacity for demanding listening sessions.
ALUMINIUM CHASSIS
The Lineo 5 Duo uses an aluminium chassis, with the material also serving as an integrated heatsink for thermal dissipation. Volumio describes aluminium as a robust, non-magnetic material that it uses across its product range where possible.
VOLUMIO LINEO 5 DUO COMPATIBILITY
The new power supply follows the original Lineo 5, which was designed to work with the Rivo Plus streamer transport. The Lineo 5 Duo adds the ability to power two electronics at the same time, with Volumio specifically citing combinations such as the Rivo Plus and Preciso.
