LG Confirms UK Prices For Its New xboom Speaker Range

LG has confirmed UK availability and pricing for four speakers in its latest xboom range, covering everything from a £40 pocket-sized model to a 220-watt party speaker with karaoke features.

The xboom Mini, Rock, Blast and Stage 501 are available now. All four were developed as part of LG’s collaboration with will.i.am and include sound processing that can adjust the tonal balance for different types of content.

Small Speakers For Everyday Listening

The xboom Mini is a compact cube-shaped speaker with a strap, a tripod mount and tactile controls. It offers up to 10 hours of playback and carries an IP67 rating, which means it is sealed against dust and can survive temporary immersion in water under the conditions set out by the manufacturer. It costs £40.

The £60 xboom Rock is also rated at up to 10 hours and IP67, but puts greater emphasis on toughness. LG says it has been subjected to military-standard durability testing, and its compact shape is intended for outdoor use and easy carrying.

Bigger Models For Parties

The xboom Blast costs £450 and is designed for longer trips and larger gatherings. LG quotes up to 35 hours of battery life, four drive units, three passive radiators and output of up to 220 watts. A passive radiator helps reinforce bass without needing its own amplifier channel.

At £500, the xboom Stage 501 uses a five-sided cabinet and can deliver up to 220 watts when connected to mains power. Its replaceable battery is rated for up to 25 hours. AI Karaoke Master can reduce or adjust the lead vocal in a normal song and can change the pitch, so a special karaoke recording is not required.

Sound Processing And Lighting

AI Sound analyses the material being played and adjusts the equalisation to emphasise elements such as melody, rhythm or vocals. The larger Stage 501 and Blast also use Space Calibration Pro, which is intended to adjust the sound to suit the surrounding space.

Built-in coloured lighting can move in time with the music. Power figures give a useful indication of the amplifier’s capability, but they do not tell the whole story about loudness or sound quality, so the room and intended listening distance still matter when choosing between models.

The xboom Mini, Rock, Blast and Stage 501 are available now in the UK at £40, £60, £450 and £500 respectively. LG also plans to add the larger xboom Power 5000 and Power 9000 in early October, with prices still to be announced.
