INNUOS SENSE 26 SOFTWARE UPDATE INTRODUCES NEW CLASSICAL MUSIC EXPERIENCE AND AIRPLAY 2

Innuos has announced Sense 26, the 2026 edition of its in-house-developed software, introducing a new Classical Music Experience alongside AirPlay 2 support.

The update provides new ways to organise and discover music, while allowing audio from a wider range of apps and services to be played through compatible Innuos systems.

INNUOS SENSE 26 CLASSICAL MUSIC EXPERIENCE

The new Classical Music Experience addresses the more complex structure of Classical Music, where recordings can involve composers, conductors, orchestras, ensembles, choirs and soloists, while individual compositions can contain multiple movements. Sense 26 groups tracks by work on album pages and displays the people involved in each recording.

A dedicated Works section on composer pages allows users to explore different recordings of the same composition. Search has also been expanded to include composer, work title, conductor, soloist and ensemble, while the Now Playing screen displays the work alongside its movement during playback.

CLASSICAL MUSIC LIBRARY ORGANISATION

Sense 26 also adds detailed Classical metadata to newly ripped CDs, with the information automatically identified and added to the library. An optional library rescan allows previously ripped CDs to benefit from the same metadata while retaining details that users have previously edited.

INNUOS SENSE 26 AIRPLAY 2 SUPPORT

AirPlay 2 is another addition to Sense 26. Audio from apps running on an iPhone, iPad or Mac can now be streamed directly to a compatible Innuos streamer.

This includes services such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube, KKBOX and QQ Msic, as well as other audio sources outside the Sense ecosystem.

INNUOS SENSE 26 AVAILABILITY

Sense 26 is available as a free software update for original Innuos systems from the ZEN Mk3 Series onwards. The update continues support for compatible Innuos products up to nine years old. Further interface improvements, refinements and fixes are also included.

HiFi PiG says: Sense 26 adds useful functionality for Innuos users, particularly those with larger Classical Music libraries. The expanded metadata and search options should make finding specific recordings easier, while AirPlay 2 adds a straightforward way to play music from outside the Sense ecosystem.
