FIIO K17 R2R PRO STREAMING HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER ANNOUNCED AHEAD OF VIENNA DEBUT
FiiO has announced the FiiO K17 R2R Pro, a compact desktop unit combining DAC, streamer and headphone amplifier functionality in a single chassis.
Positioned as an all-in-one solution, the FiiO K17 R2R Pro builds on the company’s earlier K15 and K19 models and is set to be demonstrated publicly at High End Vienna 2026 in June.
FIIO K17 R2R PRO DAC ARCHITECTURE
At the core of the K17 R2R Pro is a proprietary 5 + 24-bit resistor ladder (R2R) DAC design. This architecture is intended to deliver a more analogue-style presentation, with support for both NOS (non-oversampling) and OS (oversampling) modes. Users can switch between these modes depending on preference and source material.
AMPLIFICATION AND POWER OUTPUT
The unit incorporates a discrete Class AB headphone amplifier stage with a quoted output of 4000mW per channel. This level of power is designed to accommodate a wide range of headphones, from in-ear monitors to more demanding planar designs, while maintaining control and dynamic range.
CONNECTIVITY AND STREAMING
As a combined DAC and streamer, the K17 R2R Pro supports local playback alongside wireless and wired streaming. Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Gigabit Ethernet and QPlay support for compatible devices, enabling network-based audio playback within a home setup.
FIIO K17 R2R PRO SOUND CUSTOMISATION
A 31-band parametric equaliser with Auto EQ functionality is included, allowing detailed sound adjustment. Settings can be configured via the FiiO Control app or through a web browser, with profiles stored directly on the device.
DESIGN AND FEATURES
Additional features include a USB ground loop isolator aimed at reducing noise when connected to digital sources, and a 35W low-noise linear power supply. The front panel is dominated by a 3.93-inch touchscreen providing access to playback controls, settings and visual displays such as VU meters. An aluminium infrared remote control is also supplied.
The K17 R2R Pro is designed to operate both as a standalone headphone amplifier and as part of a wider HiFi system, offering flexibility for different listening setups.
