FiiO FT15 Planar Headphones
FiiO FT15 FEATURES 101MM PLANAR DRIVERS AND WALNUT CUPS
FiiO has introduced the FiiO FT15, a pair of planar magnetic over-ear headphones featuring 101mm drivers, an ultra-thin diaphragm and natural walnut earcups.
The FiiO FT15 follows the company’s FT5 and comes with a range of connection and storage accessories.
FiiO FT15 PLANAR HEADPHONES
At the centre of the FiiO FT15 is an 800nm diaphragm, which FiiO says is 86.7 per cent thinner than its previous generation. The diaphragm uses a full-face diamond coating intended to increase rigidity, while a patented magnetic field design uses contoured high-strength magnets.
The 101mm planar drivers have an effective radiating area of 6,443.5mm² and incorporate a precision electroplated voice coil using 28nm chip-grade technology.
FiiO FT15 IS DESIGNED TO BE EASY TO DRIVE
With a sensitivity of 95dB/mW and impedance of 24 ohms, the FiiO FT15 is designed for use with a range of sources, from USB dongles and digital audio players to dedicated headphone amplifiers and CD players. FiiO specifically cites its QX13 USB DAC as one suitable compact source.
The supplied cable uses 6N monocrystalline copper and is cryogenically treated. It terminates in a 4.4mm balanced connection and comes with 6.35mm and XLR-4 adapters.
WALNUT EARCUPS
The FiiO FT15 uses North American FAS-grade black walnut for its earcups, with the natural wood grain varying between individual headphones. A carbon fibre headband contributes to a total weight of 425g.
Two sets of earpads are included, along with a storage case.
