DCS VARÈSE TRANSPORT

Since 2000, dCS has produced CD and SACD transports, starting with the Verdi. The company highlights that many listeners continue to value playback from discs, whether due to existing collections or recordings not available in other formats. The Varèse Transport is designed to provide high-quality performance for both Redbook CDs and SACDs, played in their native formats.

DESIGN AND ENGINEERING

The Varèse Transport uses a new chassis design, machined from a single billet of aluminium with constrained layer damping. Mechanism mounts are also milled from solid aluminium, with no joins or fixings. This construction is intended to reduce noise and vibration, supporting stable playback.

CONNECTIONS AND CONTROL

The Transport connects to the Varèse Core using the bespoke dCS ACTUS interface, via a single cable. This provides bit-perfect transmission of audio signals, while automatically syncing to a master clock signal through the Core or Varèse Clock. Listeners can control playback through the Varèse User Interface, the Varèse Remote, or the Mosaic ACTUS app.

TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE DCS VARÈSE TRANSPORT

The Transport plays CDs in their native 44.1kS/s format and SACDs in native DSD. It incorporates the same mechanism found in the Vivaldi Transport II and Rossini Transport but mounted using a new method to further reduce vibration. dCS describes this as its quietest, lowest vibration Transport so far.
