CHORD ELECTRONICS SUZI PRE AND SUZI AMP LAUNCHED

Chord Electronics has officially launched the Chord Suzi Pre and Chord Suzi Amp, a new compact pre/power amplifier duo featuring the brand’s hallmark design and ULTIMA amplification technology.

First unveiled as prototypes at High End Munich 2024, both models are now available globally.

CHORD ELECTRONICS SUZI PRE OFFERS FLEXIBLE ANALOGUE PERFORMANCE

The Chord Suzi Pre is a standalone analogue preamplifier featuring a built-in MM/MC phono stage with selectable gain and impedance. Users can access these settings through top-panel controls or the included remote. It includes three RCA inputs, one RCA output, and a 12V DC output. A polychromatic sphere manages volume and input selection, and both 3.5mm and 6.35mm headphone outputs are provided, catering to a wide range of headphones.

CHORD ELECTRONICS SUZI AMP FEATURES ULTIMA TECHNOLOGY

The Chord Suzi Amp is a stereo power amplifier delivering 30 watts per channel and employs Chord Electronics’ proprietary ULTIMA amplifier topology. Despite its compact size, the Suzi Amp incorporates robust connectivity, including RCA inputs and 4 mm banana plug loudspeaker outputs. A removable solid aluminium top cover gives access to connection points for the Suzi Pre or Hugo 2 DAC. The unit also includes a 12V DC output and headphone pass-through.

Used together, the Chord Electronics Suzi Pre and Suzi Amp create a compact, full-featured HiFi system that supports both vinyl and headphone listening. CHORD ELECTRONICS SUZI AMP INTEGRATES WITH HUGO 2 AND 2GO

For digital-focused users, the Suzi Amp integrates seamlessly with Chord’s Hugo 2 DAC. This pairing transforms the system into a high-performance DAC/amplifier. Adding the 2go streamer further enables network playback via Roon Endpoint and DLNA/UPnP, with up to 2 TB of onboard MicroSD storage. This setup offers Hugo 2 owners a significant upgrade path without compromising space or design coherence.

USB MULTIPLEXER EXPANDS INPUT OPTIONS

To accommodate additional connectivity, Chord Electronics offers a USB multiplexer accessory for £300. This expansion connects to the Hugo 2’s dual Micro USB inputs, adding USB-B for data, along with USB-C data and charging support. The Hugo 2 automatically selects the active input, simplifying multi-device setups.

CHARGING BRIDGE ADDS CONVENIENCE

Included with the Suzi Amp is a charging bridge accessory. This device powers the Hugo 2 DAC when the Suzi Amp is turned off, ensuring it remains fully charged for portable use. It also includes a 5V USB-C output for charging other devices.
