TechDAS Air Force IV Turntable

TECHDAS AIR FORCE IV TURNTABLE LAUNCHED

The new TechDAS Air Force IV Turntable  design incorporates the company’s established air-based technologies, including an air bearing system intended to isolate the platter and record from vibration.

The TechDAS Air Force IV Turntable also features a vacuum hold-down system designed to secure the LP during playback.

TECHDAS AIR FORCE IV

The TechDAS Air Force IV features a one-piece chassis precision machined from solid aluminium alloy, with a total weight of 34.3kg. The platter is also machined from solid aluminium, weighing 8.7kg, and forms a central part of the deck’s construction. The turntable uses a belt-drive system with a polished polyester flat belt and an external motor unit, separated from the main chassis to reduce vibration.

MOTOR SYSTEM AND SPEED CONTROL

The motor system in the TechDAS Air Force IV consists of a 2-phase, 4-pole AC synchronous motor housed in an external unit. Speed control is handled by a digital rotational control system driven by a power amplifier. The turntable supports both 33.3rpm and 45rpm playback, with quoted wow and flutter figures below 0.03%.

TECHDAS AIR FORCE IV ISOLATION AND ENGINEERING

Isolation is addressed through multiple approaches, including the air bearing system and four suspension feet incorporating damping materials. The platter spindle features a tapered design intended to stabilise off-centre records. A thin damping and antistatic mat is applied to the platter surface to protect records during use.

TECHDAS AIR FORCE IV FEATURES AND FLEXIBILITY

Despite its relatively compact footprint, the TechDAS Air Force IV can accommodate up to three tonearms. It is supplied with a tonearm base for either rear right or front right positioning, with additional bases available as optional extras. The turntable also includes a separate power supply unit and a platter cover.

TECHDAS AIR FORCE IV TECHNOLOGY TRICKLE-DOWN

The Air Force IV incorporates design elements and technologies derived from higher models in the range, including the use of a one-piece platter and external motor configuration. Compared to the Air Force V Premium, it adopts a different platter design and motor arrangement, with the aim of improving overall performance while maintaining a compact form factor.

TECHDAS AIR FORCE IV PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The TechDAS Air Force IV turntable has a UK RRP of £19,998 inc. VAT.

HiFi PiG says: TechDAS has become one of the most reconisable high end turntable brands.
