AUDIOVECTOR R5 ARRETÉ LOUDSPEAKER INTRODUCED WITH FLAGSHIP TECHNOLOGY

Audiovector R5 Arreté Loudspeaker hifi news

The Audiovector R 5 Arreté the new floorstanding loudspeaker from the Danish HiFi brand, developed over a five-year period, with more than 2,000 hours of listening tests undertaken during its design.

The Audiovector R5 Arreté Loudspeaker sits between the R 3 and R 6 Arreté models in the company’s R Series and is the first in the range to incorporate technologies derived directly from the flagship R 10 Arreté.

AUDIOVECTOR R5 ARRETÉ LOUDSPEAKER

Designed, engineered and hand-built in Denmark, the R 5 Arreté is positioned to bring elements of the company’s top-tier loudspeaker design into a mid-range model.

AUDIOVECTOR R5 ARRETÉ DRIVER AND SYSTEM DESIGN

The Audiovector R 5 Arreté uses a 3.5-way configuration with a bottom-mounted bass reflex system. Two bass drivers are employed with distinct roles: one handles the full bass range, while the second is dedicated to the lowest frequencies. This approach is intended to preserve clarity in the midrange by allowing each driver to operate within a defined bandwidth.

High frequencies are handled by a newly developed Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter, based on the principle introduced by Dr Oscar Heil. The tweeter is specified to operate between 2,800 Hz and 53,000 Hz, focusing on fast transient response and detailed high-frequency reproduction.

AUDIOVECTOR R5 ARRETÉ TECHNOLOGIES AND ENGINEERING

The Audiovector R 5 Arreté incorporates a number of proprietary technologies. These include the Accelerated Force Concept (AFC) and Low Compression Concept (LCC), both aimed at reducing driver inertia and limiting air pressure build-up behind the diaphragm.

Second-generation Freedom Grounding is also included, designed to reduce unwanted electrical noise by routing currents to ground. Additional features include a three-position damping adjustment to match the loudspeaker to different amplifier types, and a Soundstage Enhancement Concept (SEC), which controls rear radiation to influence perceived soundstage width and depth.

Other design elements include cryogenically treated crossover capacitors and a new Arreté plinth with integrated spikes and decoupling intended to minimise resonance.

AUDIOVECTOR R 5 ARRETÉ CABINET AND FINISHES

The cabinet of the Audiovector R 5 Arreté is constructed from high-density wood and is hand-finished. Standard finishes include Black Piano, White Silk, African Mahogany Piano and Italian Walnut. A black cloth grille is included, with custom piano finishes available on request.
