Meridian Announces New Distribution Partnership With Onkyo Corporation
Meridian Audio Ltd has announced a new distribution agreement with Onkyo Co. Ltd. that is set to deliver high performance audio solutions to more people in Japan.
As the official distributor of Meridian’s products in Japan, Onkyo will provide custom installation business solutions to both the major, national house builders, and audiophiles. Onkyo Corporation specialises in home cinema and audio equipment which makes them, say Meridian, “the perfect partner to promote Meridian’s loudspeakers and audio solutions to the Japanese homeowner”.

Meridian has a history of innovation, during the 1990’s, Meridian Lossless Packing technology was developed by Meridian and licensed to Dolby as the standard for DVD Audio. In 2014, Meridian launched Master Quality Authenticated (MQA), a technology for streaming music with the highest possible sound quality. As an early adopter of MQA and its champion in Japan, Onkyo began distributing music in MQA format through e-onkyo, a high-resolution music download site.
