MAGICO A3 2027 LOUDSPEAKER ANNOUNCED WITH NEW CABINET, DRIVERS AND CROSSOVER
Magico has announced the Magico A3 2027, a three-way, four-driver floorstanding loudspeaker that revisits the original A3 launched in 2017.
According to the company, the new Magico A3 2027 model has been developed using measurement tools first employed for its M9 flagship, with a new cabinet, drive units and crossover.
MAGICO A3 2027 LOUDSPEAKERS
The Magico A3 2027 was developed using a Laser Vibrometer to measure cabinet-panel vibration, allowing Magico to assess and refine the positioning of bracing and damping. A Near-Field Scanner (NFS) robot was also used to measure the loudspeaker’s acoustic output across the surrounding 3D sphere, providing on- and off-axis response data.
The cabinet incorporates constrained-layer damping (CLD), together with revised bracing and bolt placement based on the measurement results. Magico says this produces a quieter cabinet structure with less cabinet-borne contribution than the previous A3.
MAGICO A3 2027 CABINET AND FINISHES
The new enclosure has radiused vertical edges, a rounded transition from the top plate into the sides and no visible fasteners on the main cabinet surface. It sits on a precision-machined base with dedicated footers. The cabinet panels are bead-blasted and anodised aluminium, with four finishes available: black, silver, red and blue.
DRIVE UNITS
The A3 2027 introduces new drive units throughout. Its 28mm pure-beryllium tweeter uses a new neodymium-based motor system and an extended linear voice-coil movement. The 5-inch midrange uses Magico’s aluminium-honeycomb cone technology with carbon-fibre skins, while the two 7-inch bass drivers use the same cone construction.
The midrange and bass drivers also feature titanium voice coils and copper shorting rings. The three-way crossover uses an acoustical-target 24dB Linkwitz-Riley slope, with Magico’s Elliptical Symmetry Crossover techniques and components from Mundorf EB GmbH.
MAGICO A3 2027 SPECIFICATIONS
The A3 2027 has a specified sensitivity of 87dB and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, with a frequency response of 25Hz–50kHz. Recommended amplifier power is 50W–300W. The loudspeaker measures 23.5cm wide, 28cm deep and 109.5cm high, and weighs 59.4kg.

HiFi PiG says: The A3 2027 represents a substantial redesign of Magico’s established A3 platform, with the company applying measurement techniques, cabinet construction and driver technology developed elsewhere in its range. The combination of a new enclosure, four new drive units and revised crossover makes this more than a cosmetic update to the original model.
