PMC 35th Anniversary Event At Capitol Studios Los Angeles
PMC CAPITOL STUDIOS ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
British HiFi brand PMC has celebrated its 35th anniversary with a music-industry event at the iconic Capitol Records Tower in Los Angeles.
Following on from the PMC 35th Anniversary celebrations at High End Vienna 2026, the company marked the occasion in LA with artists, engineers, producers and executives from Universal Music Group, while showcasing its latest main monitor products.

The event also included live performances from Melody Gardot, Grammy-nominated vocalist and pianist Sheléa, and percussionist Kevin Ricard.

PMC CAPITOL STUDIOS INSTALLATION
The celebration follows a major installation of more than 50 PMC monitor loudspeakers throughout Capitol Studios, including all six main studios. PMC USA and senior engineers at Capitol Studios have worked together for almost four years on the development of the new products, building on a relationship that began in 2012. That earlier collaboration resulted in the QB-1, released in 2014, followed by work on Universal Music Group’s first Atmos Music Studio in 2017.
Capitol Studios, which opened in 1956 just off Hollywood Boulevard, has recently undergone a refurbishment as it celebrates its own 70th anniversary. Studio A and Studio B both feature PMC10-4 main monitors and custom subwoofers, with PMC6 compact monitors providing nearfield monitoring. Studio A can accommodate an orchestra of up to 50 musicians.
PMC10-4 MAIN MONITORS
The PMC10-4 is used in Studio A and features four 10-inch low-frequency drivers working with PMC’s Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) design, alongside LaminairX airflow venting, a PMC75v3 dome midrange and 34mm soft dome tweeter. The speakers use an n-compass waveguide and are supplied with dedicated Master36 DSP/Amplifier and power20 Amplifier units, providing a combined 5,600 watts per speaker. Room EQ is handled through PMC’s SoundAlign2 interface.
PMC MONITOR SYSTEMS ACROSS THE STUDIOS
Studio C has been equipped for stereo and immersive audio mixing with PMC15 XBD speakers for left and right channels and a PMC15 for the centre. Ci140 and Ci65 speakers provide surround and height channels, with two BST subwoofers handling low frequencies.
Studios D and E use PMC8-2 XBD systems with PMC8-2 SUB subwoofers, while Studio F, a Dolby Atmos mixing and QC suite, uses twotwo.8 monitors for the left, centre and right channels, with Wafer1 speakers for surround and height duties. PMC hi-fi speakers, including prophecy models and Ci on-wall speakers, have also been installed in offices and boardrooms around the facility.

PMC co-CEO Oliver Thomas described the installation as the largest the company has undertaken during its 35-year history.

PMC co-CEO Tom Loader also highlighted the work of the company’s UK R&D team in developing the new monitor series.

With more than 50 PMC speakers now installed across the refurbished facility and all six main studios using PMC monitoring, the project represents a substantial milestone for the UK loudspeaker company and its work in professional audio.
