YG ACOUSTICS VESPER THREE-WAY LOUDSPEAKER JOINS REFERENCE RANGE
YG Acoustics has announced the YG Acoustics Vesper, a new three-way loudspeaker that joins the company’s Reference range above the Carmel.
The YG Acoustics Vesper has been developed to retain the compact format of the Carmel while adding the greater dynamic scale and bass depth offered by a three-way design.
YG ACOUSTICS VESPER LOUDSPEAKERS
The YG Acoustics Vesper is the result of a three-year development programme involving research, simulation, measurement and listening. YG Acoustics says the design was developed in response to requests from customers for a loudspeaker that offered increased scale and bass performance while retaining the compact dimensions of the Carmel.
DRIVER DESIGN
The YG Acoustics Vesper uses a three-way configuration comprising an 18 cm (7.25-inch) midrange driver and a 22 cm (8.75-inch) bass driver, alongside YG Acoustics’ hybrid Lattice tweeter. The midrange and bass drivers feature advanced motor designs and the company’s proprietary aluminium cones.
The three drivers are integrated using a third-generation Ultracoherent crossover. This uses proprietary YG Acoustics components and incorporates developments from the company’s Titan research programme.
YG ACOUSTICS VESPER CONSTRUCTION
As with other YG Acoustics loudspeakers, the YG Acoustics Vesper is machined in-house and hand-built at the company’s manufacturing facilities in Denver and Cambridge. The enclosure is constructed using aerospace-grade aluminium, with research and development carried out at YG Acoustics’ laboratories in Cambridge, England.
YG Acoustics says the Vesper’s design decisions were evaluated through measurement, modelling and listening during development. Dr Matthew Webster, CEO and chief designer at YG Acoustics, described the aim as combining the poise and compact format of the Carmel with the scale and dynamics associated with a three-way loudspeaker.

The combination of dedicated midrange and bass drivers with YG Acoustics’ existing crossover and tweeter technologies should make this a model worth hearing hopefully at the DAE or Warsaw!
