Bombard To Present OB1 Active Loudspeaker At Dutch Audio Event 2026
BOMBARD AT DUTCH AUDIO EVENT 2026 WITH ACTIVE OPEN BAFFLE SPEAKERS
Young Belgian HiFi brand Bombard will introduce its approach to HiFi at Dutch Audio Event 2026.
Bombard is based in Ronse, where it has its workshop and premises, and also has a listening apartment in Ghent. Both locations are available for listening sessions by appointment.
The company was founded by Stijn and Loïc, who met through their shared involvement with a music festival. Bombard’s stated aim is to combine audio quality with the convenience expected by today’s streaming generation, alongside attention to design, craftsmanship and the use of natural materials.
BOMBARD OB1 ACTIVE OPEN-BAFFLE LOUDSPEAKER
Bombard’s first product is the OB1, an active open-baffle loudspeaker system. Each speaker has 370W RMS of Class D amplification, with separate amplification for the high- and low-frequency sections.
The open-baffle design is intended to avoid the coloration associated with a closed cabinet. The OB1 also incorporates a fully internal digital signal chain comprising DSP, streaming and amplification
The two OB1 speakers are identical, with no master and slave configuration. The system determines automatically which speaker is positioned on the left or right.
Data and audio are transferred between the two speakers at up to 192kHz/24-bit using I²S over HDMI. Bombard states that this provides the connection between the speakers without loss or added noise, while maintaining timing between the two units.
BOMBARD DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Bombard says its products are designed around natural materials and circular design principles, with repair, upgrades and maintenance forming part of the concept. The company describes this as an approach intended to allow its products to be maintained and developed over time.
The name Bombard refers to the medieval cannon, including the Dulle Griet displayed in Ghent. The company uses the name to reflect the powerful character it aims to bring to its products.

Bombard will be exhibiting in the Kempenzaal at Dutch Audio Event 2026, where visitors can meet the team and hear the OB1 active open-baffle loudspeaker system.

DUTCH AUDIO EVENT 2026 PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Dutch Audio Event 2026 will be open from 10am until 5pm on both Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October. The event takes place at Hotel NH Eindhoven Koningshof, Locht 117, 5504 RM Veldhoven.
Advance day tickets are priced at €17.50, excluding booking fees, while an advance weekend ticket costs €25, also excluding booking fees. Tickets will also be available at the door for €25. The venue offers free parking, and the organisers are also providing a free shuttle service to and from Eindhoven Central Station.

The show is divided into four colour-coded zones to help visitors navigate the venue, while all exhibition spaces are located on the ground floor and are accessible to wheelchair users.
