FIIO EA13 TUBE AMPLIFIER BRINGS CLASS A VALVE DESIGN TO A MODERN HIFI SYSTEM
FiiO has introduced the FiiO EA13, a full-size integrated vacuum tube amplifier combining a six-tube valve circuit with a contemporary chassis design.
The FiiO EA13 Tube Amplifier uses pure Class A push-pull operation in pentode mode and is rated at up to 28W + 28W into 8 ohms.
FiiO EA13 USES SIX VACUUM TUBES
The FiiO EA13 Tube Amplifier uses two Sylvania NOS PCF80 tubes in its preamplifier section, alongside four JJ Electronic EL34 power tubes. FiiO says the design draws on amplifier circuits from the 1950s, with the Class A push-pull configuration intended to provide low distortion alongside the characteristics associated with valve amplification.
CUSTOM OUTPUT TRANSFORMERS
A custom high-bandwidth, low-noise output transformer is used in the EA13. The construction is designed to reduce vibration and provide electromagnetic shielding, with FiiO stating that the transformer supports the amplifier’s bass, treble and dynamic performance.
MODERN CHASSIS DESIGN
The amplifier has a CNC-machined, sandblasted aviation-grade aluminium front panel and a unibody chassis. The tubes sit beneath an integrated protective cover, with side ventilation and vibration-damping feet. The EA13 measures approximately 430 × 339 × 145mm and weighs around 17.7kg.

Two mechanical VU meters with LED backlighting provide the main visual display. The amplifier also has adjustable RGB lighting around its control knobs. Volume is controlled through an analogue potentiometer offering 40 adjustment levels, with matched precision resistors used at each increment to maintain channel balance.
CONNECTIONS AND HEADPHONE OUTPUT
The EA13 provides four RCA analogue inputs for sources including streamers, CD players, DACs and turntables equipped with a phono stage. Speaker connections are provided through gold-plated 4-ohm and 8-ohm binding posts, while a 6.35mm single-ended headphone output supports headphones rated from 16 to 300 ohms. A 12V trigger input is also included.
POWER AND SPECIFICATIONS
Speaker output is specified at 18W + 18W into both 4 and 8 ohms with THD+N below 1%, rising to a maximum of 28W + 28W with THD+N below 5%. Frequency response is stated as 20Hz–60kHz for the speaker output. Headphone output is rated at 185mW + 185mW into 300 ohms and 60mW + 60mW into 32 ohms, with a stated frequency response of 20Hz–65kHz.
