FOCAL DIVA ALTA UTOPIA NEW FLAGSHIP ACTIVE WIRELESS HIFI SPEAKER UNVEILED
French HiFi brand Focal has announced the Focal Diva Alta Utopia, the latest addition to its active wireless HiFi speaker range.
Developed in collaboration with Naim, the new floorstanding model joins the existing Diva Utopia and Diva Mezza Utopia, bringing a larger four-way design inspired by the company’s Grande Utopia loudspeaker. The system combines active amplification, wireless connectivity and integrated streaming in a single package.
FOCAL DIVA ALTA UTOPIA FEATURES FOUR-WAY ACTIVE DESIGN
Manufactured in France, the Diva Alta Utopia uses a four-way bass-reflex configuration with four 20.5cm W-cone woofers in a push-push arrangement, a 16.5cm W-cone bass-midrange driver, a 13cm M-profile W-cone midrange driver and a new 27mm PRISM M-profile inverted dome tweeter. The speaker incorporates technologies derived from Focal’s established Utopia loudspeaker range, including Focus Time alignment, W-cone diaphragms, TMD suspension and IAL tweeter loading.
PRISM TWEETER TECHNOLOGY
One of the key developments in the new model is the introduction of Focal’s PRISM tweeter technology. According to the company, the design combines a multi-material substrate with a micro-structured diaphragm construction. The speaker also marks the first appearance of the M-profile W midrange driver within the Diva Utopia range.
AMPLIFICATION AND WIRELESS AUDIO PLATFORM
Each speaker contains four dedicated Class AB amplifiers delivering a total of 600W per speaker. Signal processing is handled through integrated DAC and DSP stages, while communication between the speakers uses Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology. For higher-resolution operation, users can connect the supplied Hi-Res Link cable, enabling audio transmission up to 192kHz/24-bit between the speakers.
FOCAL DIVA ALTA UTOPIA STREAMING AND CONNECTIVITY
Streaming functionality is based on Naim’s Pulse Platform and supports audio formats up to 384kHz/32-bit. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Ethernet, Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX Adaptive, AirPlay, Google Cast and UPnP. Streaming services supported include Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect and QQ Music, while physical connections include HDMI eARC, optical, RCA analogue and USB inputs. The system also supports multiroom playback through the Focal & Naim ecosystem.
FOCAL & NAIM APP CONTROL
Control is provided through the Focal & Naim app for iOS and Android, which offers access to streaming services, internet radio, multiroom management and speaker setup. The app also incorporates ADAPT room optimisation technology, allowing users to adjust speaker settings according to room acoustics and listening preferences. Voice control is available through Siri and Google Assistant compatibility.
DESIGN AND FINISH OPTIONS
Standing 148cm high and weighing 107kg per speaker, the Diva Alta Utopia has been designed for larger listening environments of up to 120 square metres. The cabinet incorporates floating side panels and distinctive Utopia styling cues, including the signature tweeter surround and illuminated front logo. Finish options include Grey Felt and Ivory Felt versions, alongside Black High Gloss, Off White High Gloss and Dune High Gloss lacquered finishes.
