WADAX STUDIO DAC COLLECTION EXPANDS THE STUDIO RANGE

WADAX Studio DAC Collection To Debut At High End Vienna 2026 hifi news

Spanish HiFi brand WADAX will introduce the new WADAX Studio DAC Collection at High End Vienna 2026, expanding its Studio range with a modular digital playback system centred around separate DAC and transport components.

The new collection builds on the architecture first seen in the Studio Player Collection and is designed to work alongside existing Studio products, including the Studio Clock, Studio PSU and Akasa DC cables.

WADAX STUDIO DAC FEATURES NEW DAC TECHNOLOGY

At the core of the new range is the WADAX Studio DAC, a digital-to-analogue converter that incorporates the streaming functionality previously found in the Studio Player while adding new DAC mono modules featuring the company’s RAXA technology. According to WADAX, the revised DAC architecture is intended to reduce noise and improve overall system performance.

The Studio DAC also marks WADAX’s first move into dedicated headphone amplification. It includes a headphone output stage with both standard jack and balanced 4-pin XLR connections, designed to accommodate a wide range of headphones.

WADAX STUDIO DAC OFFERS EXTENSIVE CONNECTIVITY

Connectivity options include AES, BNC, RCA and Toslink digital inputs, alongside support for Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready, UPnP, Audirvana, JPLAY and Apple AirPlay. The unit also features the company’s Akasa Optical connection for integration with the new Studio Transport and future Studio products.

WADAX STUDIO TRANSPORT

Accompanying the DAC is the new Studio Transport, a dedicated CD/SACD transport that incorporates technology derived from the company’s flagship Reference Transport. It uses WADAX’s THORstudio optical pickup mechanism with DWC technology and connects to the Studio DAC via the Akasa Optical interface.

PRICING AND FUTURE UPGRADES

WADAX says the Studio DAC Collection has been designed as a scalable ecosystem with ten performance levels. Users can build and upgrade systems progressively by combining the Studio DAC, Studio Transport, Studio Clock, Studio PSU and Akasa DC cable solutions.

Pricing is set at $42,950 for the Studio DAC and $39,500 for the Studio Transport, excluding local taxes and duties.
