Campfire  has announced the Campfire Audio Chimera IEM, a new flagship in-ear monitor that combines four different driver technologies within a single design.

Hand-built in Portland, Oregon, the Campfire Audio Chimera brings together dynamic, balanced armature, electrostatic and bone-conduction drivers in a nine-driver configuration. The Campfire Audio Chimera was previewed publicly for the first time at CanJam Singapore, which took place over the weekend.

CAMPFIRE AUDIO CHIMERA

The Campfire Audio Chimera uses a newly developed 10mm True-Glass dynamic driver for low and low-mid frequencies, alongside a dual-diaphragm balanced armature for midrange reproduction and two balanced armatures for high frequencies. Four electrostatic super-tweeters extend the upper frequency response.

A bone-conduction driver is also integrated directly into the CNC-machined magnesium shell, marking the first time Campfire Audio has used this technology in one of its IEMs. According to the company, the design allows low frequencies to be experienced both acoustically and physically.

INTERNAL DESIGN AND TUNING

Campfire Audio says the Chimera includes a number of internal acoustic elements designed to manage airflow and tuning. These include an embedded pressure valve positioned behind the dynamic driver and a “Master Track” tuning damper integrated into the nozzle. The company states these elements are intended to maintain balance and cohesion across the different driver types.

CAMPFIRE AUDIO CHIMERA CONSTRUCTION

The shell of the Campfire Audio Chimera is machined from billet magnesium and finished with a PVD coating, available in black or gold. The faceplate combines carbon fibre and brass Damascus-style construction, with each pair featuring slight variations in pattern and finish.

Additional design details include a machined brass nozzle with integrated mesh screen, brass fasteners and standard 2-pin connectors.

ACCESSORIES INCLUDED

The Campfire Audio Chimera is supplied with the ALO Audio Valence-6 cable, marking the return of the ALO Audio brand. The cable uses four copper conductors together with two copper and silver-plated copper conductors.

Other accessories include a leather zipper case, mesh carry bag, cleaning cloth, cleaning tool and a range of silicone and foam ear tips.

CAMPFIRE AUDIO CHIMERA PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

Global pre-sales for the Campfire Audio Chimera opened on 16th of May, with shipping expected to begin in June 2026. Suggested retail pricing is set at £6999 / $7500.
