Denon has introduced two new additions to its X Series AV receiver range, the Denon AVR-X2900H and Denon AVC-X3900H, aimed at home cinema enthusiasts and custom installation projects.

The new Denon AVR-X2900H and AVC-X3900H AV Receiver models focus on expanded system configuration, room calibration options and support for immersive audio and gaming features.

DENON AVR-X2900H AND AVC-X3900H AUDIO PLATFORM

Both receivers are built around a 32-bit multi-channel DAC architecture and have been developed at Denon’s Shirakawa Audio Works facility in Japan. Denon says the new models feature updated internal components intended to improve imaging, clarity and bass performance across all channels.

The company is continuing to offer support for both Audyssey and Dirac Live room correction systems. Audyssey is included as standard, while Dirac Live functionality is available as an optional upgrade. The AVC-X3900H also supports optional Dirac Live Bass Control and Active Room Treatment (ART) upgrades.

DENON AVR-X2900H

The Denon AVR-X2900H is a 7-channel AV receiver rated at 95 watts per channel. It supports immersive surround sound formats alongside HDMI features aimed at film and gaming use. The receiver also includes HEOS multiroom streaming and optional Dirac Live Room Correction support.

Denon positions the AVR-X2900H as a step up from entry-level home cinema receivers, with additional system tuning and configuration flexibility.

DENON AVC-X3900H

The Denon AVC-X3900H offers 9.4 channels of amplification, 11.4 channels of processing and 105 watts per channel. It also includes four independent subwoofer outputs designed for more advanced speaker layouts and bass management.

Additional setup tools include IP-based web configuration, HDMI diagnostics and expanded control interfaces intended for custom installation environments.

HEOS STREAMING AND WIRELESS SURROUND SUPPORT

Both new X Series models include integrated HEOS multiroom streaming, alongside support for Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay 2. Music services listed in the announcement include Spotify, Qobuz and TuneIn Internet Radio.

Denon has also confirmed that a future firmware update will add support for using Denon Home 200, 400 and 600 speakers as wireless rear surround channels. This feature will not be available at launch.

CONNECTIVITY

The receivers include expanded HDMI connectivity, 1440p video pass-through support and AMD FreeSync compatibility. Denon says the models are intended to support evolving home cinema systems and more scalable speaker layouts over time.

DENON AVR-X2900H AND AVC-X3900H AV RECEIVER PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The Denon AVR-X2900H and Denon AVC-X3900H are scheduled to be available from 14th May 2026. Pricing is listed as £899 / €1000 / $1349 for the AVR-X2900H and £1299 / €1499 / $1849 for the AVC-X3900H.
