JBL L100 Classic 80 Limited Edition Loudspeaker
JBL L100 CLASSIC 80 LIMITED EDITION LOUDSPEAKER ANNOUNCED
JBL has announced the JBL L100 Classic 80, a limited-edition loudspeaker released to mark the company’s 80th anniversary.
The JBL L100 Classic 80 revisits the original L100 design from the 1970s, combining its familiar appearance with updated materials and engineering. Launched in 1970, the JBL L100 appeared in the iconic Maxell cassette tape adverts from the 1980s.
The model was reborn back in 2019 and has been very popular since, with a 75th anniversary edition released in 2021…if you missed out on picking up that edition, there is now a new 80th Anniversary version.

JBL L100 CLASSIC 80 LIMITED EDITION LOUDSPEAKER
The JBL L100 Classic 80 features a natural oak veneer cabinet and a brown Quadrex foam grille with a gold-and-black JBL logo. Visual details include a black cone 12-inch woofer, a black satin baffle frame, and anniversary edition badging on the front and rear of each speaker.
This three-way, front-ported bookshelf loudspeaker uses a 12-inch cast-frame pure pulp cone woofer, a 5.25-inch polymer-coated pure pulp cone midrange driver, and a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter with JBL’s acoustic lens waveguide. Front-panel controls allow adjustment of mid and high frequencies, and the speaker is rated at 4 ohms with dual binding posts for bi-wire or bi-amp use.
