MARANTZ AV 30 AND AMP 30 REFERENCE HOME CINEMA PROCESSOR AND AMPLIFIER LAUNCHED
The Marantz AV 30 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 30 Power Amplifier expand the Japanese HiFi brand’s range of reference-level home cinema components.
The new models sit above the existing AV 10/AMP 10 and AV 20/AMP 20 combinations, offering flexible system configuration for high-channel-count home theatre installations.
MARANTZ AV 30 AV PREAMPLIFIER AND MARANTZ AMP 30 POWER AMPLIFIER
The Marantz AV 30 and Marantz AMP 30 are designed to work together or integrate with other Marantz components, allowing users to tailor systems from compact media rooms to large dedicated home cinemas. Both units are designed and manufactured at Marantz’s Shirakawa Audio Works facility in Japan and are tuned by the company’s Sound Master.
DESIGN AND BUILD
The Marantz AV 30 and AMP 30 follow the brand’s current industrial design language, featuring an updated porthole display and selectable side illumination. The AV 30 includes a fold-down front panel to conceal less frequently used controls, while the supplied remote control is backlit for use in darkened rooms.
MARANTZ AV 30 PREAMPLIFIER
At the core of the Marantz AV 30 is a dual-core Analog Devices SHARC DSP platform paired with 32-bit DACs. This processing architecture supports stereo and multichannel audio formats including Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, DTS:X and AURO-3D.
Room optimisation is handled as standard by Audyssey MultEQ XT32, using the supplied calibration microphone to set speaker size, distance and levels. Optional upgrades include Dirac Live, Dirac Bass Control and Dirac Active Room Treatment, supporting up to four independent subwoofers.
The Marantz AV 30 supports extensive system flexibility, with seven HDMI inputs capable of handling up to 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz video, alongside three HDMI outputs. Analogue and digital inputs are provided, with 11.4 channels of preamplifier output available via both RCA and XLR connections using Marantz’s discrete HDAM SA-2 circuitry.
Network and wireless features are built around HEOS, providing access to streaming services and multiroom playback. Additional support includes Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth.
MARANTZ AMP 30 POWER AMPLIFIER
The Marantz AMP 30 is a six-channel power amplifier rated at 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms with two channels driven. Channels can be bridged in pairs to deliver up to three channels of 400 watts, or configured for bi-amping up to three speakers. Both XLR and RCA inputs are included.
The amplifier is intended to work either as a partner to the AV 30 or as an upgrade within existing Marantz systems, such as adding dedicated power for front channels in a CINEMA 30-based setup or complementing AV 10 and AV 20 processors.

The Marantz AV 30 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 30 Power Amplifier are due to be available from selected retailers in January. Pricing is set at £3,500 each in the UK, $4,000 in the USA and €4,000 in Europe.
