ASCENDO THE64 SUB AND THE100 SUB NEXT-GENERATION INFRASONIC SUBWOOFERS ANNOUNCED
Ascendo Immersive Audio GmbH has revealed its latest infrasonic subwoofers: the Ascendo THE64 SUB Pro Passive Infrasonic Sealed and the Ascendo THE100 SUB Pro Passive Infrasonic Sealed.
These newly developed 64- and 100-inch models represent the next generation of the German manufacturer’s ultra-large low-frequency transducers, succeeding the earlier 50- and 80-inch designs.
ASCENDO THE64 SUB AND THE100 SUB
The ASCENDO THE64 SUB and THE100 SUB have undergone a comprehensive redesign, focusing on improved performance at infrasonic frequencies. Key changes include an upgraded quad-spider suspension system and new spider materials selected for their compliance and noise-reduction properties during high-excursion operation. The result is more controlled and linear driver movement, even at extremely low frequencies, says the German loudspeaker brand.
CABINET DESIGN REFINEMENTS
ASCENDO has also introduced notable changes to the enclosure design of THE64 SUB and THE100 SUB. These include an updated one-piece surround with improved geometry for greater linear excursion and rigidity. Internally, the cabinets benefit from revised bracing and multi-density damping materials, both of which contribute to lowering the system’s resonance frequency and enhancing impulse response. The cabinet depth has been increased to 100 cm, extending the frequency response deeper into the infrasonic region.
SERVICEABILITY ENHANCEMENTS IN ASCENDO THE64 SUB AND THE100 SUB
Serviceability has also been addressed in the latest models. Both the ASCENDO THE64 SUB and THE100 SUB now feature field-replaceable re-cone kits, simplifying maintenance and reducing downtime for professional and home installations alike.
NEW MODEL NAMES REFLECT INDUSTRY STANDARDS
The THE64 SUB and THE100 SUB replace ASCENDO’s earlier THE50 and THE80 models, respectively. The updated naming convention now reflects the full driver basket diameter in line with professional audio industry standards.
