Wilson Audio Sabrina V Loudspeakers Launched
UPDATED DESIGN FOR COMPACT FLOORSTANDING LOUDSPEAKER
Wilson Audio has announced the Sabrina V, an updated version of its smallest floorstanding loudspeaker.
The new model keeps the familiar compact proportions but introduces a number of design and material changes aimed at improving overall performance and usability.
WILSON AUDIO SABRINA V FEATURES NEW H-MATERIAL BAFFLE
The Sabrina V debuts Wilson Audio’s H-Material, a dense composite now used for the speaker’s front baffle. It’s intended to offer slightly different damping and tonal properties compared to the X-Material used in the previous SabrinaX model. X-Material remains in use throughout the outer panels and internal bracing, contributing to the cabinet’s rigidity and vibration control.
INTEGRATED V-MATERIAL FOR BASE ISOLATION
Following elements found in other Wilson Audio models, the Sabrina V incorporates V-Material at the base where the spikes interface. This is designed to improve mechanical isolation from the floor. The loudspeaker also supports compatibility with the company’s Acoustic Diode upgrades for those needing additional vibration control.
DRIVER CONFIGURATION BASED ON FLAGSHIP MODELS
The driver complement includes the Convergent Synergy Carbon (CSC) tweeter from the Alexx V, a 7-inch AlNiCo QuadraMag midrange driver, and an 8-inch woofer, the latter shared with the Sasha V and WATT/Puppy. These drivers have been used in various Wilson Audio models and are chosen here for their integration and tonal balance.
WILSONAUDIO SABRINA V CROSSOVER CONSTRUCTION
The crossover uses point-to-point wiring and custom capacitors built in-house by Wilson Audio. The version of AudioCapX-WA used here includes a copper end-spray, first introduced in the Sasha V, and is intended to offer improved high-frequency clarity. A revised woofer capacitor is also included to help improve integration across the frequency range.
CHANGES TO CABINET AND ACCESS FEATURES
The rear bass port and midrange vent geometry have been adjusted in the new model. Additionally, the Sabrina V moves resistor access to the rear panel, replacing the previous bottom-mount system. Toolless thumbscrews make swapping midrange and tweeter resistors more straightforward. A machined aluminium frame around the access panel bears the Sabrina V logo.
TERMINALS AND CONNECTIONS
The binding posts on the Sabrina V are compatible with both spade and banana plugs. These are the same heavy-duty terminals found on other Wilson Audio models, designed for a firm connection and consistent signal transmission.
