The new Metaxas & Sins Ethereal Electrostatic Headphone System is a full system combining the 580v Bias Ethereal Electrostatic Headphone Amplifier into a mannequin-style headphone stand and work of art.

No stranger to creating objects which never existed before, artist and engineer Kostas Metaxas has also created a version including a Swiss Tourbillon clock.
GEOMETRIKA
The CNC-carved casework also features one of Kostas’ pattern designs called Geometrika which creates a visual patina of squares and rectangles recessed into an organic shape, requiring the most advanced 5-axis CNC machine to create it. Other pattern designs will be offered similar to those used in Kostas’ Haute Creation work for S.T. Dupont of Paris.

Inside the case are two entirely mono ultra-low-noise high voltage purely discrete and completely balanced amplifiers dedicated to electrostatic headphones running at over 1000V peak-peak. The Bias voltage of 580V, which is standard for STAX, Sennheiser and most electrostatic headphones, has been designed to be ripple-free and running at high frequencies to avoid any interference with the delicate audio signals.
HEADPHONE STAND
The head section of the mannequin can be used as a stand to support the headphones when they aren’t in use, or in different configurations can include a Tourbillon Clock. An optional DAC can be added, or in the near future, a full digital music streamer.

Kostas is also working on his matching X1 headphones, but in the meantime, the Ethereal can be happily used with the highest end headphones on the market.
