XAVIAN UNICA LOUDSPEAKERS LAUNCHED WITH HAND-CRAFTED SOLID OAK DESIGN
XAVIAN has introduced the XAVIAN Unica, the latest and most accessible model in its Natura loudspeaker line.
Designed as a compact, two-way standmount, the Unica aims to provide an entry point into the brand’s craftsmanship-led loudspeaker philosophy.
XAVIAN UNICA LOUDSPEAKERS
The XAVIAN Unica features a cabinet made from 23 mm thick solid oak, shaped and finished by the company’s carpentry team in the Czech Republic. Each enclosure is created through traditional handcrafting techniques, including the smooth, curved forms that define the Natura series. XAVIAN applies a modern varnish to enhance the natural grain and appearance of the oak.
As part of the Natura family, the Unica follows the series’ approach to organic cabinet shaping and natural material use. These forms are only achievable through manual work, and XAVIAN positions this construction method as a continuation of its previous compact models, Perla and Joy. The Unica is described as an evolution of these designs, built on more than a decade of refinement.
DRIVERS DEVELOPED FOR UNICA
The loudspeaker uses two AudioBarletta drivers developed specifically for the model. A 150 mm mid-bass unit with a polypropylene membrane and a copper shorting ring handles low and mid frequencies, while a 26 mm impregnated soft-dome tweeter covers high frequencies across a wide bandwidth.
XAVIAN UNICA CROSSOVER AND INTERNAL COMPONENTS
Inside the XAVIAN Unica, a bass-reflex system is supported by a crossover built from a small selection of Jantzen components, comprising five elements in total. The design prioritises simplicity and signal integrity, with individually mounted gold-plated terminals completing the connection layout.
The Unica is rated at 8 ohms and offers a sensitivity of 87 dB (2.83 V/1 m). XAVIAN specifies a frequency range of 52–20,000 Hz (–3 dB on-axis) and a crossover point at 2,490 Hz. The model is recommended for amplifiers between 30 and 100 watts, aiming for broad compatibility with a wide range of HiFi systems.
Each loudspeaker measures 327 × 200 × 280 mm and weighs 7 kg. The cabinet construction, including its thickness and solid-wood material choice, is intended to provide structural rigidity and acoustic stability. The hand-finished aesthetic is consistent with XAVIAN’s emphasis on natural materials and craftsmanship.
