TRIANGLE BOREA BR05 21CM DRIVER JOINS THE BOREA RANGE
French HiFi brand Triangle has expanded its Borea range with the Triangle Borea BR05, a large-format standmount loudspeaker built around a new 21 cm midwoofer.
The design combines a two-tone, retro-inspired appearance with a cabinet and driver system designed for larger-scale sound. The Triangle Borea BR05 is specified for rooms between 15 and 45 m².

TRIANGLE BOREA BR05 LOUDSPEAKERS
The new 21 cm midwoofer uses a 100% natural cellulose pulp cone, with a 120 mm ferrite magnet and 40 mm voice coil. Triangle says the cone profile, dust cap and suspension have been developed to balance low-frequency output with midrange performance, while the rigid open basket is designed to aid airflow and heat dissipation.

TRIANGLE BOREA BR05 TWEETER
High frequencies are handled by Triangle’s 25 mm silk dome EFS (Efficient Flow System) tweeter with phase plug. The company specifies homogeneous high-frequency dispersion and a precise soundstage, with a slightly warm character intended to work with a range of electronics.
CABINET AND BASS REFLEX DESIGN
The Triangle Borea BR05 uses MDF cabinet panels up to 21 mm thick. Triangle’s DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System) incorporates an EVA foam gasket connecting the rear of the driver motor to an internal brace, while two additional braces are used to reduce cabinet resonance.
A double front-firing bass-reflex port is designed to spread airflow and reduce turbulence and port noise. With both ports facing forwards, Triangle says the speaker is less sensitive to its distance from the rear wall, allowing easier positioning in a room.
TRIANGLE BOREA BR05 CROSSOVER
The second-order crossover operates at 1.7 kHz with a 12 dB/octave slope. Components include large-gauge air-core inductors, polyester film capacitors and cement resistors, with high-purity oxygen-free copper (OFC) wiring. The Triangle Borea BR05 also has bi-wire and bi-amp-compatible binding posts.

FINISHES AND SETUP OPTIONS
The Triangle Borea BR05 is available in five finishes: Light Oak, Black Ash, Chestnut, Green and Frosted White. Each uses a wood-toned cabinet with a solid-colour front panel and matching driver surrounds, while removable magnetic grilles are supplied.
A supplied base tilts the speaker back by 8° towards the listener. Alternatively, the optional S03 stands, available in Black or White, raise the speakers to listening height while retaining the 8° tilt.
SPECIFICATIONS
The Triangle Borea BR05 is a two-way bass-reflex design with a stated frequency response of 42 Hz–22 kHz (±3 dB), 90 dB sensitivity, 120 W RMS power handling and 4.7/8 Ω impedance. Each speaker measures 300 × 490 × 345 mm (W × H × D) and weighs 14.6 kg.
TRIANGLE BOREA BR05 PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The Triangle Borea BR05 is available to order at an SRP of £729 / €749 / $999 per pair. The optional S03 stands are priced at £225 / €249 / $299 per pair.
HiFi PiG says: The Triangle Borea BR05 looks like a practical option for listeners wanting standmount speakers with larger-scale sound and flexible room placement, and a cool retro-inspired look.
