TEAC PD-507T CD TRANSPORT JOINS THE REFERENCE 500 SERIES
Japanese HiFi brand TEAC has announced the TEAC PD-507T CD transport, to join its Reference 500 Series. The model uses the company’s in-house designed CD-5020A mechanism, which has a proven track record in professional broadcast applications.
This transport is mounted in a semi-floating structure and supported by a dedicated drive circuit, aiming to provide refined and stable CD playback for digital audio systems.
TEAC PD-507T CD TRANSPORT
Unlike a CD player, the TEAC PD-507T is designed without an internal DAC. Instead, it provides pure digital output for connection to external DACs, including TEAC’s UD-507 DAC, preamplifier, and headphone amplifier. This approach allows users to integrate the PD-507T into a variety of digital-based HiFi systems.
The PD-507T incorporates separate power supplies for each clock and digital output. In addition, users can switch off unused digital outputs to reduce noise. A toroidal-core transformer, independent rectifier circuits for motor and pickup operation, and a low-phase-noise crystal oscillator are also included to help maintain a clean signal path.
CONNECTIVITY WITH TEAC CG-10M-X MASTER CLOCK
The new transport offers the option of connecting an external 10MHz clock, such as the TEAC CG-10M-X master clock generator, for improved timing accuracy. This expands the system flexibility for those seeking additional refinement in sound reproduction.
DISPLAY AND DESIGN DETAILS
The TEAC PD-507T features an amber full-dot OLED display that aligns with the visual style of other 507 series components. Its semi-floating top panel contributes to both the mechanical design and sonic character, while Stress-Less isolation feet are employed to help preserve tonal balance. The unit is available in silver or black finishes.

Playback options include normal, repeat, shuffle, random, and programmed playback. A power-on play function, dimmer control, and auto power save are also provided. Connectivity includes selectable coaxial and optical outputs, 12V trigger in/through, and an IEC power inlet for user-selected power cables. A remote control is included.
