McIntosh have announced the XRT1.1K Loudspeaker. Following in the footsteps of the XRT2.1K is the more accessibly sized XRT1.1K Loudspeaker. Featuring a 1,200 Watt power rating, the full range XRT1.1K has a more user-friendly size that is 14” (35 cm) shorter and 173 lbs (78 kg) lighter than the XRT2.1K
With its 30th anniversary approaching, Chord Electronics has launched ULTIMA, a new flagship amplifier featuring John Franks’ latest circuit topology, the first all-new design in three decades. Chord say ‘ULTIMA is the ultimate expression of the finest high-performance, ultra-fast, ultra-high-power amplifier technology available today’.
This weekend sees the Hifi Show Live hold it’s last show in Windsor before it moves the new premises at Royal Ascot for the 2019 show. Absolute Sounds, the high end UK distributor is taking loads of great gear and will be in three rooms in the Windsor Suites area.

Metronome Kalista from France has now completed their DreamPlay range with the DreamPlay DAC. This joins the DreamPlay One Integrated Player, DreamPlay Stream and DreamPlay CD turntable. The DAC is designed and hand-made in Metronome’s workshops in the South-West of France, featuring a solid aluminium chassis, methacrylate transparent parts, and stainless steel feet.

High end Italian brand Gold Note are telling us that gold is the new black. Gold Hifi can look a bit ‘bling’, but the Gold Note finish actually looks very tasteful.
